Advantage Kings?

Does Detroit - the defending Stanley Cup champion - become more susceptible, now that it's without forward Johan Franzen? Not so, says Terry Murray. Franzen is out three to four weeks with a knee injury after a collision with Chicago's Brent Sopel on Saturday.
``I don't think they change a bit. They're such a great team. They lose players. Players retire. Players get injured. (Chris) Chelios went out with a broken leg. They just move on. They move another player into the lineup, and they keep going. It's a big Ocean liner. Once you get the thing full speed, it doesn't just stop once you shut the engine off. It's been full speed for a long time. It's tough to stop it. They have great leaders and great players. I don't think they're going to miss a beat with one player out of the lineup.''

very interested to see if Ville Leino makes the starting lineup tonight. He had 9 points in his first 5 games w. Grand Rapids, and seems like a quick study. Once again the Wings find something no one else seemed to have found.

Undrafted... http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=70492

Quincey was their #10 Dman, I think they will be able to find a forwrd somewhere.

The last Kings/Wings game I attended, the Kings won 4-2.

They haven't beat 'em since, as far as I know.

I'm going tonight let's hope the Kings pull it off again!

Yeah, I'm such a Red Wings fan that I flew back from Nashville after watching the Kings game just so I could see them tonight...

Real hockey fans pay attention to the competition too you know :)

i knew you'd say that! hockey snob predictability. real hockey fans don't post stuff about the wings lineup on a kings blog. if you're a 'real' fan, you'll have 30 blogs bookmarked, one for each team.

Actually, I do... but you knew I'd say that.... and many of them were pointed out to me by Rich Hammond... and some were pointed out to me by Kings staff... and yes, it's good to know about the opposition. Why do you think I was so excited when the Kings got O'Sullivan? BECAUSE I WAS FOLLOWING HIS CAREER both in juniors, and then in the Wild organization.

Your myopic viewpoint allows you to have such a limited scope. And, you'll start believing this Kings team will actually overachieve this year... Sorry... not this year.

blah blah blah, keep posting stuff about how "interested" you are in the wings players, as well as the other 28 teams smart guy. I KNOW Kings fans Mr. Nathan, and you're no Kings fan.

Don't you mean 29...because the Ducks shouldn't be classified as having much of a team???
