Doughty's NHL education

| | Comments (3) |

On the flip side of Drew Doughty's NHL goal was this play, which ended up being the game-winning goal by Colorado's Ryan Smythe in the third period.

That's Doughty, being made an unfortunate part of the highlight goal, but after the game, Doughty had an interesting take on the goal.

``It actually hit my foot first and went back to him,'' Doughty said, ``so it was kind of a lucky bounce on his part, but I still have to be taking the man in that position. So it's partly my fault but it was definitely a lucky bounce for him.''

Wish it hit Ryan Smyth's ugly nose instead.
I hate that guy. He's a cheap shot artist too. I won't forget that play where he broke his stick against Barbs ribs.

I was so upset to see Jack Johnson send him to the hospital after that bone crushing check. It almost made me want to cry. Almost.

Ha! I was saying the same thing last night. Doughty didn't get burned as bad on that play as it may seem.

Ryan Smyth and the Coyote's Shane Doan are two of the most overrated players in the game. They are good players, but they are simply not worth the scratch they are getting nor are they worth the hype they get from the media. If either player were American born and bred they wouldn't get half of the pub they receive. Canadians (not all of them) need to get over themselves.

Pretty cocky for Doughty to inject luck into the goal. Lucky bounces are a huge part of the game, but that luck is created. The fact is, he should have taken the body. Plain and simple.
