Injuries?
Seems that neither Tom Preissing nor Raitis Ivanans took a shift in the third period tonight. I'll have to check tomorrow and see what the reason for that might have been...

Rumor has it that Preissing is suffering from a case of suck.
Ivanans was expected when we're down a goal in a tight game, but Preissing was solid, other than a turnover, so he might have done something
Preissing was solid? He was a -3 in 9:38 of ice time.
Preissing was solid? He was a -3 in 9:38 of ice time. Agreed about Ivanans...no way he touches the ice at that point of the game.
Ivanans for the obvious reasons and I think TM wasn't happy with Pressing's play. He looked nervous out there.
Preissing didn't deserve ice time after being a -3 through the first two periods. Gauthier wasn't really out there either. I'd be surprised if he played 12 minutes.
When Doughty, O'Donnell, Greene, and Quincy are playing well, these two guys won't get much ice time.
What Geoff said.
Preissing turned the puck over in our own zone that led to Colorados goal. Labs certainly didnt help. D that try to make passes into the middle of the ice in their own zone usually get benched in any division in hockey, why should it be different in the NHL? It was a stupid pass, he should have taken the safe play and gone up the boards with it. No harm, No foul, No Goal.
Guys. The whole team was -3 after 2 periods. Was coach Murray supposed to bench everyone? How about benching our suck ass goalie who didn't stop a shot last night? Maybe then our skaters wouldn't suck as much?
Forgetting what Doughty did or did not do well defending Smyth on that fourth goal, Labs should have moved out and poke checked the puck as Smyth entered the crease looking down. I think thats why we saw Ersberg for the first time last night. Labs did not look good. That should have been an easy stop.
Rich, is there any way that Boyle can play the wing. I would love to see how he would do with Kopitar and Brown.
Preissing didn't deserve a shift in the 3rd after the two periods he played prior.
It seems that the physical effort was there, but it also seems there was a mental disconnect for many of the players. i wonder if so much time off between games is affecting their mental sharpness.
Agreed about the long schedule breaks jet.
However, come March, assuming our games still matter those games in hand will be mighty nice to have.
The defensive breakdowns were terrible, for sure. But, I couldn't help but get excited watching the young players continue to impress. Murray appear to be the right coach for this team, which I thought outplayed Colorado for at least two periods. The end to end rush by Doughty, and the continued impressive play by Simmonds and Moller gives me hope for eventually having a great team. I wonder how long Murray will stick with Moulson on the Kopitar line. Clearly, there is no spark there, and the chemistry seems to be not so hot. In general, I didn't think the Kings would be as good as they are at this juncture, so I am counting my blessings. ZZ
