Loktionov to juniors
The Kings have assigned forward Andrei Loktionov to the Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League. Windsor selected Loktionov in the CHL Draft. Windsor's general manager, former Kings forward Warren Rychel, said on the team's website, ``We are extremely pleased to add a player with Andrei's offensive ability to our lineup and we are also excited to have him suit up for us in our game against the Peterborough Petes tomorrow. Andrei participated in the Los Angeles Kings training camp in September and was assigned to us from the Kings today after the IIHF approved his transfer.''

wow... this guy was the talk of training camp... another great draft pick by DL...
I think this says more about our depth at Manchester than Loktionov's skill level.
No he cant play in Manchester there is an age restriction, I believe it is 20 years old. He is too young, which is why Bernier got sent down to juniors last year and not to Manchester. Nothing against Loktionov, he just cant go there.
That's not true. Loktionov could play in manchester. The age restriction applies only with players drafted from a CHL team- Loktionov was already Kings property before being drafted to the CHL, so it doesn't apply to him. Aside from the NHL-CHL agreement, the age requirement to play in the AHL is 18.
This same situation applies to Voynov.
Loktionov lacked all the V's that Voynov brought to the scrabble board table..
Viatcheslav Voynov is a triple world score
Viatcheslav Voynov would be a 79 point Scrabble word, assuming you used two blanks, as there are only 2 V's in Scrabble.
Andrei Loktionov is a 69 point word.
I believe the highest Scrabble value for all Kings players and prospects is Justin Azevedo, at 82 points.
Relax folks. Loktionov will gain from the time in juniors. He's 18 freaking years old, and no one expected him to be in LA this year , even if Joe thought he was the toast of training camp. He'll progress at a reasonable pace and we'll see him in the NHL a year or two down the road (wow--depth in the organization, what a concept).
Warren Rychel?! Man, I'll never forget this time he got in a fight and afterward his face just looked like like a big inflated ball of raw hamburger meat.
NEW 3rd JERSEYS!

the Kings jerseys look arite
@ Quisp: That may be the greatest follow-up comment of all time. on this blog. on any blog. in all of mankind.
Rychel always took a beating. His opponent would land 3 punches to his one. If you recall he always threw with a roundhouse style. It was as if he was quickly trying to turn the page of the Sunday comics. Still my hats off to him, he took on some big boys as a middleweight. Lok will make him look good.
LOL - Warren "The Punching Bag" Rychel
it saves a year on his pro contract
Aha,ha! Did you guys see the Leafs 3rd jersey?
oops, it's actually the Habs 3rd jersey.
Joe
You were kidding with that comment, Right?
The guy's 18 and you're already talking about him being a bust....
nykingfan said: "You were kidding with that comment, Right?"
What do you mean, "kidding?" I didn't read it as sarcasm. He seems serious to me, not kidding. He likes the pick.
Come on JOE, what did you mean?
Joe,
I have to agree with everyone else here. The kid is only 18 and this is his first year playing North American hockey. There is a huge difference between styles of hockey played in North America and Europe. That's where most people (myself included) believed he and Voinov (or however you spell it) are going to end up. I think Manchester might be a stretch as the skill and depth of the Monarchs is stacked on centerman and defencemen. What both these players need is to adjust to North American hockey and the only way they'll get is by playing many minutes, so juniors is a good judgment call on DL's part. I honestly don't see either ready for at least 2-3 years
I have no idea whether he was serious or not...I didn't actually hear the tone of his voice...just the written word.
If he was serious that by sending him down the pick was a bad one, than we can also assume that the Teubert pick wasn't very good either. Same thing with Bernier...same with Kopitar.
Most draft picks take time to develop. Dustin Brown didn't light the league on fire in his 1st year.
