Not much new to report from practice today. No line changes, and Jason LaBarbera will be back in goal tomorrow night against Detroit. Quotes and more notes to follow soon...

I would really like to see Ersberg get a chance here pretty soon. I was impressed by what I saw at the end of last year. He seems to be postionally sound and does not give up alot of rebounds. He seems to be square to the shooter more times than not. Labs has done a good job but I hope they don't wait too long before giving Ersberg some work.

We might as well not even have a back-up goalie on the roster.
TM should simply tell Ersberg that his services will not be necessary for this team. So Go Home. We need your space for John Zeiler.
I don't underastand this Hard-On TM has towards a marginal goalie. Is he stupid enough to actually believe that LaBaby is gonna help this team make the playoffs.
We've all seen Barbs play. Are any of you guys impressed. And don't tell me about his shutout in St. Louis. 16 shots saved - give me a break.

I don't see what the outrage should be, LaBarbera was given the #1 goalie position out of camp, we haven't even played 10 games, we play the defending Stanley Cup champs, the starter should be LaBarbera. I agree, LaBarbera won't win us many games on his own, but our goaltending situation is what it is, until an elite goalie (Bernier, Quick or Zatkoff) emerges let's see how the rest of the team develops. Osgood is not a great goalie, but Detroit won the Cup with him because they have a great team in front of him. Although I didn't see the game, listening on the radio, it didn't sound like Ersberg did all that well in the 3rd period.

I like to watch hockey for the positives, a great young team emerging, I don't understand why some people aggrevate themselves with things they can't change.
RELAX, enjoy this building year, when the team does have some success in the future which is inevitable, it will be all the sweeter.

I love how everyone thinks about Ersberg from last year and convieniently forgets that he nearly lost the back-up roll to Quick out of training camp. Obviously Murray saw something in training camp that worried him. I also think that playing a goalie consistenly is better than rotating a tandem and hoping one gets hot. That hasn't worked for the Kings the last few seasons.

Regardless of what you think of LaBarbera or Ersberg, when a starting goalie is struggling and is pulled twice in three games, wouldn't you at least attempt to give the backup a start? I mean he couldn't do much worse. I understand Labs is the starter and that's fine, but you need to use your backup in at least one start if he's doing poorly. He's there for a reason, stop being a moron and using a goalie in back to back nights.

People have touched on this before but I believe players like Labarbera, Calder, etc. are getting these looks because they will be shopped at the deadline and DL is hoping they can step it up so he can get even more precious draft picks. I know that Labarbera's an UFA after this season. Anyone know when we're done with Calder and Armstrong?
