lol @ 3 votes for the two "other" options"
Well, I'm an out-of-state Kings fan, but two "Other" options is interesting. The second might be for those who are too busy training for a walk-on tryout!
He is another interesting poll from Nhl.com
Who has been the most impressive rookie so far?
Steven Stamkos: 8.45 %
Zach Bogosian: 6.96 %
Drew Doughty: 51.80 %
Alex Pietrangelo: 4.35 %
Luke Schenn: 28.45 %
I voted 'of course' since I bought the weekend pack.
My next game is Nov. 1 against the Flames. See you guys in 301.
I was gonna vote for 'other' but then at the last moment, I changed my vote to 'other' with a colon (:) because, well, I felt like punctuation was the right choice.
I try to make it out to a few games each season, but I don't have time nor the money. Besides, I don't mind watching the game at home while listening to Bob and Jim.
I am concerned with the lack of attendance though, however I am curious to see how the Kings average compared to other teams throughout the league.
Voted "Other", as it's kind of hard to go to games when you're 8 time zones away... wish I could though, and would if I were there.
I had to say "other". I wish I could go to games but since I live in Fl now I can only see them when they come play close to me.
I always try to go to atleast 10 games a year. Coming from mission viejo thats about all i can do. If i could afford season tickets i wouldn't miss a game. I was there for frenzy on figuroa, i love this team. even though they had yet another dissapointing season last year. They're always exciting to watch.
I bought season tickets this year in the Diehard section. Nothing better that live hockey. And nothing better than the exciting, fast hockey this young Kings team is playing. I recommend everyone come out to a few games. It will be THE place to be.
I don't miss hockey if I can help it. I don't always enjoy the Kings performance (say, from 1982 to the end of last season --- and I was living in NY for the year they went to the Finals...) but this team is intriguing, and you couple that with the fact that I generally enjoy watching all of the opponents (Center Ice makes them ALL feel like my home team from time to time...) I just go, as I have since 1965 in NY.
This weekend I will be in Nashville on business. Amusingly, the Kings will be there. I'll add another game to my schedule.
I completely skipped the Crawford era but I went the the 6-3 thrashing of the mouse. All the kids in the line up gives me hope that the Kings will be a good team sooner than later. So I will be going to a more than a few games this year.
I split a pair of season (diehard/nose bleed) seats 4 ways between my brothers. It's a great way to take in a dozen games a year with extra perks and events thrown in throughout the year. I still check the "inside kings" blog when I'm at the game with the blackberry check to get details of injuries, etc that happen during the game.
Some day, all of us who share the joys of this blog should get together at a game. It would be very interesting to put some faces to the "names".
We may need Rick to come and referee though (if Anthony shows up)
Cristobal: See ya in what, 2011??
Haven't missed a live game since 2003, and don't plan on missing any in the near future. Moved over to the die hards, and have met the greatest fans in section 305. Can't afford to sit anywhere else currently, but at least I'm in the building. DL plan is starting to get more clear, and I'm looking forward to surprising a few teams this year. Season ticket holder since '85-86.
Love going to the games!! Attendance has been less than ever. The marketing department has done nothing as far as getting the fans hyped up to support their team. Over the past few years they have seem to have put a good effort into this but this year it has been non existent. Passion-Pride-Bullsh*t what is that? Sounds like a passive losing slogan, where is the edge that says we are in this to win and show everyone we are for real! They are losing the fan base...AEG needs to get thier fight back!! and I think the fan base will come back with the same vigor. New marketing team blows!!
Sorry Rich. Didn't mean to call you Rick.
I am one of the "others" as well. I moved to Phoenix this summer. So, in LA games are almost impossible. But, I did already go to the preseason game and ruffled more than a few feathers. I plan on going to at least 1 or 2 more when the Kings come to town (only when the Kings come to town) this year.
Normally we (my wife and I) try to attend 10-20 games/year, but being that I got laid off from my job a couple of months ago - it is the first time in 8 years that i haven't purchased at least a partial season. Hopefully I will catch a few games in 2009 once I am employed again. This team looks to be an exciting team and the light at the end of the tunnel for the Kings is begging to show.
Terry Murray seems to be a hell of a good pick for coach for this team.
Dean Lombardi is building a great team for the future.
Being unemployed sucks as bad as the Ducks's record so far this season.
If I'm going to the Islanders game in NY does that count? LOL

I saw that poll as well. I guess it's not just us that have noticed how great he's been.
I also took at look at Stamkos stats...5 games no points 8 shots. I'm surprised he's struggled this badly, but that's not our problem....
Does anyone know who he's playing with?
Already went to 3 preseason games but I have season tickets for the REIGN this year so will probably only see a few kings games live during the regular season
I would goto more if I didn't live out of state =( but I usually make 2-3 a year.
Before I had kids I used to go to about half of the games, and up until last year I would still go to perhaps 10 or 12 games a year. I cut way back last year due to the team's pitiful effort, and I was planning to cut back even further this season. After seeing how competitive they've been thus far, I now hope to catch a half-dozen games or so. Once my kids are older hopefully I'll be back up to 20 or so games per year.

That poll is misleading. If you look at all the other articles that those polls are in, whomever the article is in reference to is leading these polls. That poll was pulled from an article about Doughty. The subsequent articles about Pietrangelo and Bogosian showed them as being the most impressive rookie or defensemen so far in those polls.
Not trying to rain on the parade as I voted for Doughty in each of the polls that I had seen, but those polls are dependent on who reads the article and most likely they will be fans of whichever player the article is about. Still good to see fans checking the article out and giving some love to Drew.
As a poor college student, watching games live OR via cable is almost impossible. I still enjoy Nick and Darryl on the radio, though.
I voted for "a few" based on finances. Had season tickets for 4 years and loved every minute of it. Changing careers right now, so the money isn't quite there yet. Kings are my #1 recreational priority, but in the overall scheme of things, their not on the list right now.
How many people does a suite hold? I'd get together with you gentleman for a game. Maybe if it was reasonable a suite would be in order.
I voted other because I live about 2hrs away. So we go to the games that we can fit into our work schedule. If I lived closer I'd buy a partial season plan.
If I lived in LA I would have bought one of the 10 game packs because that's within my price range (being still in school). Unfortunately I live in San Jose and can only watch the Kings when they play the Sharks.
I will go to the game this Friday and then maybe the 24th of March. Depends on how they are doing at that time. I will watch the rest on CI and stay up to date with them via this blog.
Thanks again Rich.
Someone asked this question I think so...
The Kings finished 21st in attendance with an average of 16,583 the league average was 17,264
Montreal in first with with 21,273 NY Islanders in last with 13,640. I'm not sure but I believe the Ducks had better attendance than us for the first time ever at 15th place with 17,195, but that was also after coming off a championship year.
I voted Other/No. For me, I don't even want to go if the tickets are free (2 of the 3 games I've been to were on free tickets). As long as I owe money on credit cards and have a hard time making ends meet I don't even eat out, let alone drop the money involved in travelling downtown to attend a Kings game. AEG has been pinching pennies for over 10 years and caters to Corporate fans. I really don't care if I ever go to Staples again. I guess its a bit of a boycott and a bit of trying to be financially efficient. Plus, with DVR I can take the NHL's 2 and a half hour production of a 60 minute game, and watch it in 60 minutes!!!!
How about 7 1/2 minute intermissions and no commercial timeouts? And FIX THE DAMN ICE, for the love of GOD.
I would, if I still lived in L.A. I am planning on going to the Boston va. LA Kings game ... does that count? :)
I will be at the game in Dallas on 11/13. When I vacation back to So Cal, I will try and catch a game in LA.
