Thursday practice

Nothing too exciting on the ice this morning. Kyle Calder is still skating with Brown and Kopitar, so that looks like it will stick. Moulson is an extra with Boyle and Zeiler. Notes and quotes to come...

I think Boyle gets one more shot at staying & if he doesn't show a new level of intensity, he's down to Manchester. Makes no sense to keep scratching him.

not sure how i feel about this whole calder w/ kopi & brown thing, i think o'sullivan just flat out needs to be on the top line and then mess with the bottom 3 lines.

sully/kopi/brown
moulson-calder/stoll/moller
simmonds/zues/fro
ivanans/boyle-richardson/army

makes sense on paper to me.

Not a bad idea with Calder, really, especially if they are trying to make him look better as trade bait.

I'm not even sure he gets another shot now. I think he gets sent down to get some playing time in and hopefully work hard. If/when Calder fails, Purcell gets the next call.
That's my best guess.

agreed Simon, as much as I love Boyle he may not stick this time. but just like Purcell he'll be back so I wouldn't worry... he can always contribute greatly in Manchester and be a mid- or late- season callup.

let the Richardson, Calder, etc. get their ice time for the time being if that's the case. and we can keep scratching Zeiler til the cows come home

I can't believe we are even talking about Zeiler. What does he bring to the table? And i agree with everyone that Boyle should be sent down. Once he gets that fire lit up underneath him, he should be unstoppable. The game against the Rangers last year at the Garden where he dominated just shows what he's capable of.

Zeiler does more damage to the boards than an out of control Zamboni.
