Another former King update
Just stumbled across this on ESPN.com. Felix Potvin is now working as an assistant coach for a Midget AAA hockey team in Quebec. An interesting read about the last goalie to lead the Kings to the playoffs...
In small Quebec town, Potvin more than content in his post-NHL life

Rich Hammond has covered the Kings, on a full-time or part-time basis, since the 2000-01 season. He was the beat writer for the entire John Torchetti era and has witnessed Bob Miller singing country music in a Nashville honky-tonk bar. A native of Los Angeles, Rich has worked at the Daily News since 1999 and also serves as the paper's deputy sports editor. E-mail Rich at rich.hammond@dailynews.com.
Jill Painter joined the Daily News in 2000 and during the last eight years she's covered the Dodgers, Cal State Northridge, UCLA, Kings, golf and everything in between. Even though she's from Colorado, she still freezes in the Staples Center press box but always manages to thaw her fingers in time to make deadline. E-mail Jill at jill.painter@dailynews.com.

I'll always respect and admire The Cat. First as the opposing goalie during his years with the Leafs, then his comeback with the Kings. I have to admit that I was skeptical of his signing in 2001. I really thought his best days where behind him and I'm glad to say he proved a lot of us wrong and the rest is history.
When he was on top of his game he was as good as Roy,Brodeur and Hasek. He had the misfortune of languishing with bad teams in Long Island and Vancouver and dealing with injuries. I think the Kings organization gave up on him rather easily in the '03 season and didn't give him a chance to recover from injury. That's the least they could have done for someone whom without, there wouldn't be a playoff run in 2002.
He looks quite content and very happy and I wish him all the best.
Great find, Rich. Thanks for passing it along.
I have great memories of The Cat during his time in LA and I'm glad to see he's doing well.
By the way, has there been any news about Jay Wells since his heart attack? I wrote to the Manitoba Moose but didn't get a response.
I was just about to give a head's up on this article, but see that Rich has already found it (big surprise there...).
Felix may not have been a King for a long time, but I don't think anyone will forget that 2001-02 season. Too bad that the wheels fell of of the franchise shortly thereafter, with Allison and Deader going down for the count.
Felix was awesome, and the whole playoff run wouldn't have happened without him. Glad to see that he's doing well!
