Chris Pronger scored from the faceoff circle on a one-timer hit the crossbar and beat Erik Ersberg for the winning goal 40 seconds into overtime. Ersberg had a magnificent game, stopping 26 shots in regulation.

We're now 1-6 in one-goal games. It's typical of young/bad teams, but it's something that needs to rectified.
He had a great game. Too bad he couldn't come up "with the big one".
Here's my thoughts:
Ersberg was solid. He looked calm and in control the whole game. Rebound control was top notch.
The Kings spent a lot of time in the Ducks zone, and still they got VERY few quality chances. Right now, it seems like they just dump it in and cycle it along the board, without it ever amounting to anything. Something has to change here.
Doughty played VERY well again, and he showed great initiative starting offensive plays, and following through with his own breakouts.
Kopitar.. today, it became clear to me that he just sucks in whatever offensive system Murray is using. Players like Kopitar can't be cycling the puck along the board all day.. that's for 3rd and 4th liners to do (and possibly the Sedins..;)
ummm...not sure what game you were watching Jill but the winning goal went over his shoulder into the top corner, not between his pads...
Ummm it was top shelf, not through his pads. That 'clang' you heard was the puck hitting the crossbar and going in.
Just brutal that Kopitar couldn't finish on that great pass Doughty gave him toward the end of regulation.../
Ersberg played great. Definitely deserves the next game. No chance on the goal. That was a well placed shot, right under the crossbar, that no goalie stops.
It was actually good to see a Kings goalie this season that had great rebound control, and good lateral movement. Two things that LaBarbera is severely lacking.
I thought the Kings were great tonight! Ersberg rose to the occasion (as expected) and performed brilliantly against a very tough offensive group. The Kings took it to the Ducks and showed some real heart. I'm bummed that they didn't get the W, but I'm equally impressed by their energetic, even-keeled style of play. Nice job boys; this is one to be proud of.
Kings played well and Ersberg did a great job.
I saw the same thing tonight, as I have the last three games, and I have the same question, where are our skilled players? Why can we not put the puck in net when opportunities arise? Even Fro, who I think has been our best forward and has played his best hockey, has had 3 or 4 breakaways and a penalty shot and hasn't buried one. If it wasn't for a rookie, we would have zero goals in 3 games. I find the line juggling a bit concerning as most of you do, but I guess at the same time, if the players did their job(scoring) there would be less interchanging. I don't know what the answer is on offense, but I can say with conviction, I am extremely happy with the improvement on defense from a year ago. I guess the important thing is we play defense first, and let the offense come to us. It's to bad, the Kings played another solid game, other than scoring

Hey, Man from Uncle? Um that;s 6 in a row. We are no longer in last place in the West, we are in last place in the league. Heart, energy and "even keel" are meaningless. Points and GETTING OUT OF THE CELLAR are what are important. Frankly, it's Patrick ONeil and fans like you that make this year 42 of LOSING.
I swear, its like the movie Groundhog Day being a Kings fan sometimes.
JS Giguere had a MAGNIFICENT game.
Erik Ersberg had a good game.
Kyle Calder blows.
Terry Murray is a moron.
Film at 11.
Ah, as if we really need another cynic in L.A.
You're right- it's "fans like me" who are responsible for the Kings losing season after season. It's "fans like me" that get to make management and coaching decisions that ulimately lead to a string of losses. And let us not fail to mention that it's "fans like me" who are responsible for faking the moon landings and bringing down the World Trade Center towers.
Your logic is inspiring. Please.
It ain't easy being a Kings fans, but gotta keep the faith.
They played well again. This team has shown significant improvement in their own end this year. They have become a responsible defensive team...I'm sure it has a lot to do with TM's system, but offensively they are looking awful. How can our skilled players not play with any creativity? What the hell is Fro's problem with breakaways? That was a move a high school kid tries.
Positives: Doughty (what else is new) I thought Zeus had a strong game. Moller was probably the best offensive player out there.
I thought Ivanans played well on the checking line. Boyle and Stoll also looked good.
Negatives: RINKSIDE VIEW!!!!!!
Note to Fox...What did I do that was so bad in my previous life, that you are forcing me to watch my beloved Kings from the worst possible angles on every single play? I can't tell half the time whether the Kings are going right to left or vice-versa. How is that possible???
Just please give me back the regular, boring view from up above. I'm paying for this crap, you know?
If you feel the need to mess with angles...start on the World Poker Tour first.
Thanks for allowing me to vent.
Jill... glad you saw the game the same way as the rest of us. excellent game by Ersberg, going toe to toe with Giguere who was on his game all night just like the two previous elite goalies we played. our scoring will get better, but not overnight against the likes of Nabokov, Osgood/Wings D, Luongo, Kiprusoff, and Giguere. it's just an unfortunate buzzsaw, but that's how good this conference is, and this team will emerge the better from it.
btw you're doing a helluva job, keep it up.
