FINAL: Ducks 2, Kings 0
The Kings fall to 1-1-1 in the season series against the Ducks, as they win the shot battle, 29-26, but go 0-for-5 on the power play and generate few memorable scoring chances.
The Kings had their chances early, with almost six consecutive minutes of power-play time in the first period, and they deftly killed a 5-on-3 Ducks power play in the second period.
Erik Ersberg stopped 24 of 26 shots and once again allowed fewer than three goals in a game, but the Ducks' second goal looked shaky and Jonas Hiller stopped all 29 shots he faced.
Drew Doughty led the Kings with 28 minutes, 27 seconds of ice time, yet another astounding total.
The Kings will take tomorrow off and return to practice Tuesday. They face Washington on Thursday.

Anyone notice if Moller came back after the Pronger hit that laid him out.
How many times have the Kings been shut out this season? 4-5? I'm starting to think we are as bad as last year (only in a very different way).
Dear Terry Murray,
Please put Sully back on the kopi brown line.
At least give it a one game shot against the Caps and see how it goes. Other then that you are doing an awesome job.
P.S. I was right about Ersberg. If you fix the scoring now... I smell a Jack Adams award in your future
it is obvious Terry Murray doesn't have the slightest clue about coaching offense, just as Marc Crawford knew nothing about defense. This team is absolutely no better than last years team. Another season down the drain. Why do I spend my money and emotion rooting for this perenial lost cause? :(
Pathetic performance by the kings in front of ersberg. No excuses, anaheim played mediocre hockey and still won. The whole thing seemed rigged, dull, and disappointing. Tonight we took a step back.
The Kings should practice against Laughbarbera instead of Ersberg, just to get some goals and get the feel of scoring again.
I thought it was another strong game all around.
We win four straight and everything is rosy. We lose two games in 24 hours and everything has gone awry. Get some perspective, people.
The Kings looked in it for the first half of the game but were obviously out of gas as it went on. These things happen. We dominated Nashville and certainly deserved better. Tonight, we got what we deserved. Things will even out over 82 games.
When you focus as much on defense as we are, the scoring will suffer. So riddle me this: would you rather score the 2.8 goals per game we had last year, but be third-last in goals against? Or would you rather hold the opposing team to less than 3 goals and have a fighting chance at squeaking one out? Sure, it's a bit discouraging to have no offense to speak of, but it will come with time. I hope...
Need a left winger on the 1st line? I know play Sully on the 4th.He wouldn't be a good fit afterall he played with Brown and Kopitar for only half a season last year and their stats were only a point a game each.Meanwhile the clock ticks away with more losses due to the lack of offense. No brainer FIRE MURRAY.
Coulda used Richardson's fresh legs tonight.
Worst game I've seen by the team this season.
All offense/no defense ~ no offense/all defense. Both are unbalanced.
Defending is a much easier business than creating offense. To defend well, all it takes is commitment and desire. To create offense, you've got to have everything it takes to defend but you've also got to have the skills.
An ineffective power-play is a tough handicap to carry, too.
All the coach has done is fixed the goaltending problem(maybe) and fixed the defense problem(for sure)and ruined the offense .Last years team had a better record at the same point in the season...Maybe the new coach doenst inspire enough..Thats two games this year(Vancouver the other one)that the Kings didnt show up to play...Thats on the coach..They cant be tired..they are young and have played alot of games at home this season...Why Rich or Jill or anyone is the offense so stale?? What is the coaches philsophy on O??It took the coach a long time to figure out the goaltending problem...how long before he relizes that his lines are not working???
sasKing, the point is, it just doesn't matter. We lose either way. It just doesn't matter.
Is there a way to protest against Murray's decision of putting Sully on the 4th line?
Where can we send e-mails to Murry pleading to put Sully on the top line? Calder and Moulson obvisiously haven't done jack.
Kopitar is suffering out there and so is Brown...RE-UNITE THE FRIGGIN' LINE FOR GAWDS SAKE!
MURRAY, great job on defense, now LET the boys play together, thats all they want and this team will be humble and put some W's together! geeeez
So Rich, please, next time u talk to Murry, let him know us fans want the top line back together for at least 4 games straight! Lets see some production here folks. Calder and Moulson got there 3 week change, so why can't Sully?
No problem GO KINGS GO .

Or they could shoot on Ersberg from the blueline with nobody in front of them. It worked for the second Ducks goal.
Kings looked tired and even though they had spurts they were in their own zone most of the game with tired legs.
Please get rid of Calder....Use + Less = ????
Can anyone tell me...(besides the obvious that Sully is not on line 1), why Kopi and Brownie are not scoring goals? Is the execution different than last yr? What is the problem? Do you all really think that Sully can bring that line back?
Thanks for the comments.
Although I do think Sully needs another shot at it....
Is it just me or does Frolov get beat to EVERY puck?
eek!!! who scheduled the game tonight a whole 19 hours after the Nashville game. It always seems the Kings either get a team first and then the ducks play them or we get a quick turn around game the next day. As for the game tonight. Team was gassed. Spent to much energy trying to get the puck out of the zone.
As for moving POS to the top line. It might help but I think Kopi is gripping his stick, trying almost to much now that he has the big money, I don't think POS is the solution. POS and Boyle are starting to get something going, maybe another forward on that line would help, I am thinking Richardson.
Ah but what do I know, oh yeah as much as the rest of you which usually seems like very little.
GO KINGS GO
Sad how you all freak out when you lose a couple games,
it is not a big deal. I would like to see a lil more o-fence buy who wouldnt? Dont freak gang it is all good in the hood. I wish Boyle would do a lil more hitting and be a lil bit more tough.
Ok, just back from the game. I was doing a crossword puzzle and 19 Down was ten letters and the clue was useless...
What is going on? You want to waste a bunch of 5 on 5 time with Calder playing with Brown and Kopitar, fine... but the power play? Really? Six or seven straight games of this crap and you still think you're doing the right thing TM? NO... you're not... and Stoll? what happened to him on the point on one of the units? Didn't work for you? That fantastic one timer... the booming shot that he seemed to get on net and through the netminder a couple of times? Doesn't work for you? Really? NO... you're screwing the team out of offense, and I get the whole "spreading the wealth" and "keeping the opposition's shot totals down" but here's a news flash...
YOU DON'T WIN IF YOU DON'T SCORE...
YOU DON'T SCORE with Kyle Calder patrolling the wing for 15 key offensive minutes in ANY game.
YOU DON'T SCORE when your power play doesn't feature motion, good shot selection, and a man in front...
That was a hundred miles of driving to see a mildly retarded effort.
I HOPE TM dont get all crazy and put Barbs back in now with the 2 game loss streak.....
Dear Chris Bond,
I don't think anyone is freaking out....however, I think it's a little confusing when this team seems to outplay their opponents only to not score goals in the process....just trying to get a sense of the offense that's all.
BRIAN - It is just you.
CHIRS - I get all 'monk'-y when I see your name spelled like that. Can't you fix it?
You're a great fan of the team. I've read most of your comments.
But when I read Marc Nathan's post and realized he drove 100miles round trip and spent the money to support his team, and they look like they're out-matched, it makes me understand the frustration. Sure the kids were tired (get on those stationary cycles after the game) but when the tactics of the coach are so unfathomable, it really can get one gritting the teeth. There is too much great young talent to be struggling to create OPPORTUNITIES. Calder has been good but he should be on a grind line with Simmonds and Boyle. Harrold should be playing defense because after Doughty there's nobody else, Preissing included, that can offer what Harrold can going forward.
Getzlaf, Perry, and Ryan set the tone of the game by running the Kings around their own end - ragged I might add. If O'Sullivan, Kopitar, and Brown can do that to the other team, the other lines will feed off the smell of blood in the water. We've too much talent at forward to be struggling, but there is a glaring weakness on the offensive-skill level of the defenseMEN.
Brian you are right, he gets beat all night. He just lazily skates everywhere. And nobody takes the puck to the net, they all turn towards the boards or dump the puck into the corner. What we need is a game breaker, someone that's on the ice and goes to the net make moves etc. Nobody on our team dangles or strikes fear into opponents, like Getzlaf etc. Everytime that line was out they dominated, we don't have that. Sure we outshot them but look where our shots were from.
TRADE FOR GAbORIK!!! And please get rid of Harrold and Preissing and Simmmonds. Send Simmonds down, call Purcell up
Tonight reminded be of last year(not good).Lets hope the boys can turn it around.Rich do we have to vote again to get rid of the ringside cameras? They really ruined watching hockey on tv for me and my family.Do what you can to help. Thank You.
It does not make any sense why the start time was not 7:00. Three games in four nights with away, home, away is bad enough, but there is no reason for tonight’s game to have started early. O'Ds shifts averaged over a minute, not the best situation. We iced the puck too many times. The youth played like youth tonight. I thought the mental breakdowns outnumbered the physical ones. A few days off will be good for the team.
Everybody is screaming for O'Sullivan to be moved up to the top line, but honestly, he looks awful this season. He is running around every shift, never in position. He looks like a rookie, the way he is playing. Maybe playing with Kopi and Brown would help, but Brown hasn't looked very good either. If it was up to me the lines would get shaken up significantly. Break up Kopi and Brown. Let Frolov and Moller skate with Kopi. Brown and O'Sullivan should flank Stoll or Handzus. Bring up Purcell and send Calder down (or trade him for a bag of pucks).
Something has to be done. The Kings are getting a ton of shots, but no chances. They look lost in the offensive zone. Fro and Kopi still occasionally seem to have some idea of what's going on, but nobody else (except maybe Moller). So many loose pucks in front of the opposition net are being left untouched. Why aren't Brown and Calder standing directly in front of goalie, Tomas Holmstrom-style?
I'm frustrated with these shutouts. It is absolutely ridiculous!! Too much talent on this team to be getting shut out! These lines are not working and it's time Murray recognized that and really shook things up!
Simmonds has been fine...
offense needs a shakeup though. if Murray is going to continue to refuse to put O'Sullivan on the top line, I'd put Boyle on the top line wing. Scratch Calder, dress one of Army/Richardson, and see what happens. I thought Boyle had the best game among the Kings tonight.
Purcell should get a recall though. Anything for more offense at this point.
Thank you....I fixed my name I cant beleive it had been like that the whole time.....
I'll say it again:
Sully - Kopi - Brown (Familiar Chemistry)
Fro - Stoll - Mo (Cycle line)
Army - Zeus - Simmonds (Stopper)
Calder - Boyle - Harrold (Grinders w/extra D)
I'll tell you one thing, I know which D-man gets tossed when JMFJ comes back. His initials are D.G. Too many mistakes for a veteran.
We ran out of gas. Army and Richardson should have BOTH played for fresh legs replacing Ivanans and Harrold with Army on the 3rd line with Zeus and Sims and Richie with POS and Boyle.
Stay with Ersberg until he has a meltdown. He's keeping us in games.
People are trippin! Our only real issue right now is offense with Kopi gripping too hard and the absence of POS (I believe) makes him grip harder. Isn't Brown supposed to be the prick in front of the net? Kopi centers, POS is the sniper and Brown is the prick in the crease. DEFINED ROLES! Well, now you have Brown playing the sniper role with Calder in front, yet half the time the two seem to get their roles confused. Combined with the Kopi Death Grip we have NO DEFINED ROLES being played.
Two things will solve this problem:
1- Swap POS and Calder
2- Swap Ivanans and Army depending who you play. Toughness = Raitas and skill/dexterity = Army.
DONE! This is not rocket science.
Watching this game im going too say the guys where tired, as the game went on they lost steam. Maybe they where out too late last night.
Man. Gotta love all these "the sky is falling" posters! Don't break your legs jumping off the Kings bandwagon.
The fact is this is a young team, half of which wasn't even in L.A. a year ago, playing the 2nd night of a back to back against a Stanley Cup contender with one of the best defenses in the NHL, and it was 1-0 until late in the game. What did you guys expect? 21-0 Kings?
The offense will come. I have no problem with Calder being on the top line. You guys are all screaming that O'Sullivan should be up there. Why? What's he ever done to prove he's a 1st line player? 53 points last year and you're ready to call him the next Ovechkin? I have a message to O'Sullivan: How about showing us you want to play for this team, regardless of what line you're on, and start putting the puck in the net!
I have 100% confidence in Terry Murry to coach this team, and -100% confidence in any of you guys doing a better job of it. Take a pill. Relax.
Listen Sully makes any player better, every line he has played with automatically gets better but we need proven scoring NOW.Put Sully with Brown and Kopi and leave them together and presto you got scoring not just 1 game like Murray has done.Hell Murray has given Calder about 10 games and he has done nothing but cycle the puck along the boards and generally get in the way while missing open net chances.Where is the logic?
Try this test, FILL IN THE BLANK
PERRY,GETZLAF,RYAN
______,KOPITAR,BROWN Hint--always after me lucky charms.
for you that said Calder I would like you to kick yourself in the butt.
Well, at least no Ersberg bash posts, that would have been my undoing. He's doing a fantastic job. Everything else, re-read Marc Nathan's post.
I went to the game as well.
The Kings were in contention until the third period; by then they were clearly tired. They played ok and then came apart. I don't think this requires complicated analysis.
They're not scoring enough. Kopitar and Brown are not effective and/or are not being used effectively. Some line juggling must necessarily occur because the current formula isn't working. Calder isn't helping them.
I've said it before- this is a system issue which will remain until the Kings show consistent defensive responbsility. Murray knows how to win and he knows how to coach, and he has my respect. It's early in the season and the coaching staff are still evaluating players.
O'Sullivan's lackluster play is not due to any failings on his part. He's doing exactly what Murray has asked him to do. It's a system issue. Sully is a finesse player. He's a goal scorer and his talents probably will be put to use.
This won't be the last tough night we have this season and that's ok. What I like is that the Kings are out there every night trying hard. Losing isn't fun, but if they tender a respectable effort on a consistent basis then more power to them. They deserve a lot of credit for their professionalism.
With the exceptions of Gauthier and Preissing, the Kings' defense look really good. The numbers back that up. Last night Preissing was totally flat, sloppy, and should not have been out there. I think Gauthier is not that smart of a player and probably should see less and less ice time.
So all you whose support waffles between unerring support and doomsday predictions from one game to the other, try looking at the bigger picture. Young team + lots of new players + new coaching + a new system = a need for patience while the team gets together. They WILL get it together! It's not a complicated question.
Can this Calder on the 1st line thing finally end? How many times is he gonna shank and miss the net to get Sully outta the doghouse and back on the 1st line where he belongs?
Only saw the highlights, but two things jumped out at me:
Calder has to bury that.
Why is Kopitar's line allowing a 4-on-2?
Westgarth K.O.: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQkEZtaTNew
Quisp - and the other guy is not a complete dog. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ei4k1YNgUWg&feature=related
Sullys in the dog house! ,what did he do, ask for more money than the Kings were offering? I would love to hear where Brown and Kopi are?Maybe they are screwing the pooch that lives in that house!
Paul I respect what you said but look at Sully's points in context. In the first 1/2 the season you rarely saw him if he wasn't killing penalties and he got no PP time (kind of like this year).
Most of his points were from playing 1/3 of the season on that Kopi/Brown/Sully line.
THAT is when he proved he belonged there and why he got a decent contract.
Paul in Oxnard,
If you thought there was a bandwagon for this team you were mistaken. Can't understand frustration after getting SHUT-OUT for the second game in a row by the cross county rivals? Can't understand frustration of getting SHUTOUT by the DUCKS BACKUP GOALIE? Can't understand the frustration that the Ducks have had Giguere, Bryzgalov, and Hiller while our goalies allow knuckleballs from the redline to make it a 2 goal game with 5 minutes left to play?
Can't understand the frustration at being SHUTOUT for the FOURTH TIME THIS YOUNG SEASON?
No peep from you about those making playoff predictions after a 4 game winning streak against 3 of the worst 6 teams in the league.
No sense of perspective from you when the team is resposible for losing games; you choose to blame Labarbara.
Quisp, it seems like you watch more Manchester practices than LA Kings games.
Want to know why there was a 4on2? Watch the game.
The real question is "why can't this team play offense?" "Why are they spurning 5 on 3's and 4 straight minutes of PP?"
4 things
CHOKE -ITAR
Calder needs to go.
Purcell needs to get called up.
Purcell-Kopitar-Brown
Frolov-Stoll-O'Sullivan
Moller-Handzus-Simmonds
Calder-Armstrong-Richardson
get it done NOW!!!!
I think Sully's making chances for himself and others and that's all we can ask.
Kopitar is in a slump but as long as he keeps putting out effort goals should come.
Kings are close and were competitive. If Kopitar scores on the good set up from Frolov on that 2-1 and its a whole other ball game. Instead, a split second d whiff on a bang bang play.
Though I hate to say it, good defense by the Ducks. It seems to me O'DOnnell is one of the King's better defenseman and he's a bottom pairing defenseman for the ducks. They are just better at this point. But the Kings were competitive.
Brown Kopitar Sully 1
Frolov Stoll Moller 2
Purcell Boyle Simmonds 3
Calder Handzus Richardson / Army Shut down

Wow! That rinkside view must be really awful if it makes it look like Sully is playing good hockey right now. The only role that he is even somewhat doing well is the PK. Last night he was all over the place with no purpose whatsoever. From the seats I was in, it looked like he was skating blindfolded. Generally you have to play well to get on the 1st line. No coach bumps up someone playing that poorly to the first line. He should make him a healthly scratch as a wake up call. He is starting to look like our version of Dustin Penner. POS is an accurate description of his play lately not his initials
November 17, 2008 7:12 AM
Top line is confusing, you have brown a power forward, Kopi a great setup guy, and ...a grinder in Caldar. Who is suppose to be scoring on that line, it needs a sniper type player and that would be Sully. While both Brown and Kopi can score goals a sniper on that line will open the ice for them. This is pretty basic hockey putting players together that complement each other.
"The Butthole Surfers" -
What's your point?
Frightening thought is that Zeiler is back, and now we can throw him into the mix too...
It might be time to revisit the word "perspective"
I'm the biggest O'Sullivan fan on the boards, but I do get a chuckle out of the "he's never met a shot he didn't like" concept. Granted, he's one of the few willing to throw the puck at the net, but with Boyle and Harrold, there's rarely a time his effort will be rewarded with a rebound...
My thoughts are a lot like Butthole Surfers, but with a little less intensity. When are we going to stop blaming the coaches and start putting responsibility on the players. Are some of you telling me because TM expects to play defense, the guys can not fulfill their offensive responsibilities? How about this one, I think Calder isn't performing because Kopi isn't performing. Stop blaming Calder(or TM) for Kopitar's lack of efficiency. On the same note, where is POS, Brown, and Fro. If our top guys are not flexible enough to be effective, no matter the situation, they should be replaced. I'm one who believes Kpoi and Brown should be separated. There seems to be no chemistry at all on that line. You can blame Calder and Moulson all you want, but there's still 66% of that line that isn't working as well(which is majority). I would like someone to explain to me why Moller has been more effective than Kopitar or O'Sull? It seems to me the kid just wants it a little more. I love Kopi and O'Sull, but I also think they need to nut up and be the players they're capable of being, no excuses. These comments are strictly on the offensive side of things. Our defensive scheme is still working beautifully.
BHS - Easy tiger!
Guys, gals...A couple of nights ago when the Kings had swept Dallas in a home & home, we were talking playoffs for this team and TM was ready to be voted the Jack Adams trophy. Things couldn't have changed that much in just, what 24 hours??? Think for a minute. LA played a back to back against two of the better teams in the league. The game against the Preds was tough and they laid it all out in that game. They then travel (albeit just down the freeway) to play another contender. If you watched the Anaheim game, the Kings flat out had no punch in the 3rd, they were spend, they were out of gas. They were reminiscent of a team that had played the night before. Nope, not even the Wings or Sharks or Caps or anyone plays a real strong game in a back to back situation, at least not very often. So, easy everyone.
The offense. Yes, it will come but don't expect it to come in bunches. This team is defensive minded now, not the offensive juggernauts those of us in LA have been used to, you know, winning games 6-5, 7-6 etc. They're fun to watch but you don't win championships by allowing as many goals as you score. Proven fact. Take the Wild for example. A scoring machine? Ha. But good, why? Defense. And all of those great Devils teams? Defense. Same for the old Isles. Shoot, why did the Kings loose the cup in 92-93 (aside from one illegal stick)? They got beat by a better defensive team, period. That's all there is to it. Don't get me wrong, I miss the scoring. But if you want to see a lot of goals scored, don't expect to see a lot of wins unless you're happy with a .500 hockey club. Personally, it's time for LA to move to the next level, the playoffs and a run at the cup. That's what we're talking about here, that's what TM & DL are building and selling. I'm buying into it, patience please!
I'd have liked to see some fresh legs out there too, Richardson would have been good. I still can't quite figure out why we traded a 2nd rounder for him, maybe time will tell. I'd also like to join the chorus of seeing Sully up on the No. 1 line. I think he brings out the best in Brown & Kopi & vice versa.
All is not lost. We found a bonafide NHL goaltender this week, a guy who was on the Kings bench the whole time. From what I've seen from our goaltenders in the minors this year, I'd say it's a good thing.
Thursday will be a good test for our young LA team against the Caps. But look, did anyone realistically think the Kings would be a .500 club at this point in the season? No one else did and neither did I. Bottom line, don't throw in the towel because of two losses in a row after a 4 game winning streak.
THE BUTTHOLE SURFERS, re "watch the game":
It was a rhetorical question. Allow me to help you understand: when I say "why did they allow a 4-on-2?" it means, "they should not have allowed a 4-on-2." As for watching Manchester practices, I have never. They are on the East Coast. If they were convenient, I would certainly watch them. (the clip of Westgarth beating on that guy was from a game, as you can tell from the jerseys, announcers, etc.) I've seen my share of Kings practices though. As well as watching every televised Kings game (some of them twice) with maybe a handful of exceptions over the last 21 years. Well, that's not entirely true, since I was a season ticket holder for most of the 90s, so that's 300 or so games I didn't watch on TV.
Anyway, last night I was traveling, so I only saw highlights. Which, for some reason, just pisses you off.
Kopitar is dissapointing this season. His shots are weak. Frolov is also up there with Kopitar.
The Rookies are playing better than the vets.
Doughty,Simmonds, and moeller look best. They get to loose pucks, they get shots, i think some of the vets should take a lesson from them.
One thing that is right with the ducks is Dustin Brown.
He is the man.
Mike,
Why on earth does Purcell "need" to get called up? No one down in Manchester is doing much of anything. The team isn't winning and the dearth of scoring has trickled down to that level as well. One might think the "reward" system for a recall would not apply to Purcell at this point.
My line ideas
1. Frolov-Kopitar-Moller
2. O'Sullivan-Stoll-Brown
3. Purcell-Handzus-Boyle
4. Ivanans-Armstrong-Simmonds
There is no excuse for losing back-to-back games when you outshoot your opponents as the Kings have the last two against the Preds and Quacks. Clearly the defense is sound (as is being touted in the main story on ESPN.com's NHL page at the moment), but the offense has been awful. If you're getting that many shots, some of them should be going in. If the Kings keep playing this system but switch up the lines to get something that works they will start winning a lot more games and probably make the playoffs.
If you look at the 2nd line I created you get a very nice "energy line" because you have Dustin Brown who is already going out of his way to hit opposition players left and right and is really a Chris Draper-type of player with a little more skill. Stoll too is a good up-tempo player who is used to playing that fast-paced Oiler-style game. And I think O'Sullivan would be a good fit for the two of them.
I would really like to see the Kings try these 4 lines and just see what happens for 2-3 games. There's no reason Kopi and Brown can't play together on the power play still, but if so, I really would like to see Brown going to the front of the net to score garbage goals. That's where scoring should be from and the Kings simply are not getting the garbage goals that would be winning them games.
Quisp,
By my count you've missed at least 5 games this year. If it makes it easier to bear the losing, I undertand, but it's obvious you're trying to be critical of Kopitar because the only question you could really have asked yourself on the highlights is: "how did Ersberg allow that 2nd goal?"
No offense to Westgarth, but unless he can score goals, I'm not interested. He's likely never going to play in LA because the NHL has less need for fighters every day.
Butthole -
That's a really bizarre comment on so many levels I don't know where to begin. I've seen every televised game this season, although in some cases I had to watch a few days later due to travel. As far as "[making] it easier to bear the losing," I don't have a problem with the way the Kings are playing, or, for that matter, their record so far. They could have done better, they could have done worse. I'm not freaking out about it. Your point appears to be -- really, what other point could you be making -- that I don't watch as many Kings games as you and so, therefore, I don't suffer as much as you. To which I say, ha ha ha.
Re "it's obvious you're trying to be critical of Kopitar because the only question you could really have asked yourself on the highlights is: 'how did Ersberg allow that 2nd goal?'":
I'm not trying to be critical of Kopitar. I am being critical of Kopitar, or his line anyway, and not in general, just on that play. I don't have a problem with Kopitar, or if you prefer, "Kopi." I just think, when you're playing the kind of defensive system the Kings are playing, if your first line is not burying its chances and they're allowing out-numbered attacks like that, you're going to lose.
The second goal Ersberg allowed was obviously a bad one. You get no argument from me. So, I guess my point would be, that's two little mental errors, without which -- even without any offense from Kopitar et al -- it's a tie going into overtime.
