The Kings beat Alex Ovechkin and the Capitals 5-2 tonight. The Kings frustrated Ovechkin, who was held to just one assist. Patrick O'Sullivan, who moved to the top line, scored a goal for the first time in 12 games. Anze Kopitar scored an empty netter with one second left. Dustin Brown scored a power play goal (and how about Kyle Quincey attacking with the puck and the nice assist), and Drew Doughty scored the first goal of the game. There was plenty to celebrate for the Kings, including another fine performance from Erik Ersberg, who made 19 saves.

Here's some notes from the game:

Dustin Brown (1-1=2) had his fifth multi-point game of the season. The Kings are 6-0-0 in those games. Brown now has 65 hits on the season. To view Brown's hit tracker and his partnership with KaBOOM! log onto www.lakings.com/kaboom.

· Teams combined for 63 total hits tonight (Kings 34, Washington 29).

· Drew Doughty has six points in the last seven games (2-4=6).

· John Zeiler had five hits in his season debut tonight.

· Michael Handzus (1-1=2) had his second multi-point game of the season.

· The Kings are now 5-0-0 when leading after two periods.

· The Kings are 3-0-0 against Southeast Division opponents this season.

· The Kings are 4 games away from 3,200 in franchise history.

Major props to the Defense for this win. Blocking shot, taking the body, and doing a pretty good job on Ovechkin. Only 9 shots on goal allowed through the first 2 periods. Defense was also getting it done on the offensive side. Doughty with a goal, Greene with a nice outlet pass to Sully, and Quincy end-to-end with a nice centering pass to Brown.

D's getting it done.

Where are all the comments? Everybody must have gone to the game.
Great game, a total blast to watch!!
Now what do we have to do about Heidi Androl?
She looks great, but does she have to act like a 16 year old. Quick, hit the mute button!!

It was a good win. STUPID penalty by Ivanans to let them bring it within a goal. He actually looked semi quick and had some decent hands last night and surprised me a couple of times.

Is it a coincidence that Kopi, Sully, and Brown all had goals once they were reunited? Maybe but I don't think so. All their goals weren't on plays to each other necisarily but they were all out when they had chances to score.

Zeus is a stud this year. I'm so glad he came off that horrible year healthy and can contribute like the big man he is. Great defensive plays last night and was rewarded with the empty netter.

Doughty and Quincy were great last night. There weren't too many glaring mistakes from the other guys back there so it was a good night. A couple of non clears that almost cost us but overall a good night.

One nit to pick...is anyone else not loving the Stoll experiment as point man on the PP? It seemed awkward last night and they didn't do much on those chances. I've never been a big fan of 4 forwards on the PP like that.

And our 5-3 was horrendous again.
