Final: Nashville 3, Kings 1

| | Comments (17) |

The Predators scored an empty-netter by with 47.7 seconds left by Shea Weber. The Kings had 34 shots on goal, two shy of their season-high 36, but for the Kings, that's not the stat that matters.

Good job MURPHY.
Keep Calder on the line with Kopi and Brown..
Keep Calder on the PP.
Keep putting POS on a line with duds.
Keep playing these immature mind games with POS.
Keeping playing with his head.
What we have here is a 58 year child.

Brown scored the empty net goal. And he caused the last penalty by that dumb pass at their blueline. If Brown didn't play the last 5 minutes of this game we would have won.

LA hockey pretty boring TM let them play enough with the trap if your not going to make the playoff let Kopi Sully Brown ect work on their offence this hockey puts me to sleep. But if you think theirs a chance to make it ok then but those guys are not happy .

Agree with Anthony!

Get Calder away from the first line!!!!!!! It's really not that hard to figure out. You think a coach with as much experience as Murray would have already realized that.

And I am not a fan of rolling 4 lines either. When Ivanans is out late in the 3rd period, You're in trouble.

POS needs to stop being treated like a red headed step child!

What we have here is a 58 year child.

It seems the only child here is YOU

Look, the Kings weren't spectacular tonight if only for the lack of production on offense. It's an unfortunate loss, but it wasn't really too bad if you consider the whole game. They were out-hustled in the last 10-12 minutes of the third and that basically sealed it for Nashville. Our guys stuck to their system, which is a lot more than they did either of the last two seasons. They didn't get blown out and it wasn't a bad loss for The Iceberg. Way more positives than negatives to be taken from this game.

On the other hand, I am a bit perplexed as to why O'Sullivan continues to be relegated to third- or fourth-line status. At first I was comfortable with Murray's decision (for various reasons), but the more games I see the more out of place Sully seems to be IMHO. He sort of just flails around on a make-believe forecheck half the time, and he isn't really adding much defensively or offensively. He should be playing with Kopi and Brownie & I hope the coach has another go with the three of them playing together. In his favor, Sully does seem to be trying to do exactly what's asked of him and that's commendable and professional.

We're not scoring enough goals, bottom line. Part of that has to do with Kopitar's lackadaisical play, part of it is the defensive-mindedness of the system, and I personally believe that a big part of it is that Sully is not being allowed to fulfill his natural role as a goal-scorer.

At the very least, Murray's doing a stellar job with the Kings' defense. Maybe the system will open up or evolve once Murray is satisfied that a consistent level of defensive responsibility is reached.

Folks, either stop attacking one another or I'll shut down the comments section. It's that simple. There isn't any reason you can't make a point without attacking someone else. I understand most of you are able to handle this, but for those of you that aren't, you're about to ruin it for everyone else.

Anthony calling someone a child???hahahahahahahahahahaha! For someone who does alot of namecalling in regards to TM and DL to be calling anyone a child is just humorous to me.

I was expecting this... the nay-sayers go away when we win four in a row, and after a close loss it's time to rip on Terry Murray again. I didn't see the game and I don't know what happened, but I don't understand how every win is attributed to the players and every loss is attributed to the coach. Care to explain?

Why is everybody whinning about. The Kings is winning and play good D and remember good D lead to offense but it take time for it to happen. or everybody want the score to read 6-5 or 4-3 and we Kings lost. Remember the Kings score alot last year but we were at the bottom of the standing because we couldn't play D.

Jill,

First off I, among many others, appreciate this blog that Rich and yourself have given us. Here's an issue I have.
So it's Ok for someone to personally
"attack" with childish names , Our GM, Coach, and players (in their opinion),and not be reprimanded, while those of us that give our opinion of those people are. Why aren't their posts deleted? By allowing the classless posts through, you are inviting the "attack" responses.

You are correct. There shouldn't be any name-calling of anyone. There are so many comments (which is great, and we appreciate), that I might have missed some. Also, some comments are posted immediately, while others need to be manually posted by us. Not sure why this quirk is there, and this might be the reason that some of those posts you're referring to are making it on the blog. I'll check into this. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

That's the whole story. The Kings played an overall great game and only let Nashville handle about 5 minutes of the game.
