Ersberg to start against struggling Avs
The Kings (8-8-2) host the Avalanche (8-10-0) tonight...and, of course, there's the unveiling of the third jersey. The Kings have a countdown on their Web site and are really hyping the jersey, but you can see pictures of the jersey that were posted on this blog earlier this week.
The Avs were shut out against Calgary in a 1-0 loss on Thursday and are really struggling offensively. The Kings might be coming out of their offensive slump as evidenced by a five-goal outburst - two goals of which was empty-netters - against the Capitals.
Erik Ersberg gets the start again in goal tonight. No other expected changes.

2 goals were empty netters :)
Dont you mean two goals were empty netters?? =)
Hmmm - hate to be a stickler, but there were two empty netters; the first by Kopitar and the one by Handzus
Two of which were empty-netters against the Caps***
They scored two empty netters not one
Hey, we're all allowed a mistake! The more important thing is that Ersberg will once again be in goal. I said in previous posts that he would be the number-one goalie by Thanksgiving. If he's not officially named as the starter by then, he's at least already the number-one by proxy now.
Seems the grammar police are out in full force.
Can't wait to see the Iceberg live for the second time this season.
We have a good shot at winning this game, and really need to. Gotta follow up those two losses with atleast two wins.
Hopefully Smyth shows up with a target on his back...
Anyone know if there is any pre-game ceremony going on for the jerseys or just a normal 7:30p start?
Dangit, forgot to sign in, will take a while to show up. I'll let the rest of it show up later under anonymous but for now...
Does anyone know if there is going to be a pre-game ceremony or anything for the jersey or is it a normal 7:30p event start?
Who cares how many empty netters.
Just be happy that Iceberg is starting instead of Beachball #2.
Am I right?
Not sure, but everyone needs to act real surprised when they skate out in the new Uni's.
And let's not forget, it's the return of a legend - Brian Willsie.
Man, Brian Willsie is gonna be soooooo envious of those awesome looking turd jerseys.
Hope you're enjoying that view from the bench LaBarbera.
Normal 7:30 start, no crazy presentation
Thanks Butthole Surfers and Vasquez. No need to tackle traffic earlier than need be.
Nothing agains Brad Richardson, but can we have Lappy back if we give Richardson back to Colorado? If Richardson isn't going to play anyway, I'd love to have Ian back on our side.
We still love you, Lappy.
people...
why is it such a big deal that we scored two empty net goals (of our 5 total)! you say it like they don't count! that means we were winning for god's sake! why is it a bad thing? and don't worry about grammar. some of you are the worst spellers ever. i hope we get an empty net goal every game the rest of the year!!!!! if kopi gets 30 empty net goals, does that mean he is having a bad year? come on now!
If Kopi gets 30 empty netters, I think all of us would be ecstatic because it means we have like 37 wins guaranteed without blowouts or ENGs not scored by him. However, it doesn't reflect well on him if he ends up with 35 goals and 30 are empty netters.
and when talking about how well our offense is doing, it's worth noting that 40% of your goals in a game were freebies.
was just correcting the original post Jedi. No harm done in being correct now is there?=p GO KINGS GO!!!!!
Jedi....Thank you! The last time I checked, empty netters counted too. Also, if you're fortunate to get one it usually means you just iced a game. I like watching the Kings ice games.....
Hey everyone....It's Ugly Jersey Night!!!
Go Kings!
