No changes today
In practice, the lines remain:
O'Sullivan-Kopitar-Brown
Frolov-Stoll-Moller
Calder-Handzus-Simmonds
Ivanans-Boyle-Zeiler
Armstrong and Richardson remain the spare forwards. I'll try to determine who the spare defenseman is, now that Harrold is back on defense.

WOW, Richardson is not in and Ivanans is in because of Brashear. If anyone has followed the Caps this year Brashear has 25 mins in penalities has one fight under his belt and played in 15 games and 2 assists. Unless Ivanans instigates something Brashear won't drop the gloves. He to smart and for that he gets more icetime than Ivanans. The Caps are full of speed and Murray is sitting one of the fastest skaters on the team if not the fastest to go with an enforcer who can not win faceoffs. Don't understand I guess that's why I gave my 3 season ticket packages to cha
I hope Preissing gets benched. The last of the bad pick-ups by Lombardi.
How does Zeiler look Rich?
Now thats the lineup I have been waiting for! I know alot of you guys don't like Zeiler or Ivanans, but with the way Murray is running the team, this will be good! Hopefully Sully can get his touch back...
Sapper1: Not trying to pick a fight...but I disagree with the comment on Richardson. Ivanans deserves a little credit for how he is playing much like brashear this year. Finally the guy has learned to stay out of the box and only throw down when absoloutely needed (not counting Parros, his favorite dancing partner), and Zeiler is a machine. Maybe not the prettiest, but he forechecks like a tazmanian devil and with the system that is now in place, he will be a huge help. Looking forward to tomorrows game!
Zeiler should sit and Richardson should play. This is obvious.
I have to admit, I'm also not sure what the fascination is with Ivanans, or Zeiler for that matter. Neither one is a scoring threat and both are going to be prone to taking penalties against a team like the Caps. I'm guessing the only reason Richardson isn't playing is because he hasn't shown or refuses to show TM what TM wants to see out of him.
dude what happend to richardson? wasn't he supposed to have uber potential?
Gauthier needs to ride the pine.
hey Sapper1, Tverdovsky was also one of the fastest skaters and you saw what happened. DL said himself, if skating fast is your only attribute, you'll be the fastest one to get knocked off the puck. i like the lineup we have. We'll see how the new lines will work.
Wow, I'm very surprised that TM seems disinterested in Richardson. I was cautious about him as well, but thus far this season, he hasn't been bad. Clearly he has more up side than that worthless Kyle Calder (he makes me sick).
Mark is right, when Preissing and Calder are gone, DL's worse legacy would go too.
And I don't understand why anybody would want John Zeiler to ever lace up a pair of skates again. He brings absolutely nothing to a team.
OK, maybe I was rough on Richardson. But my belief is that if the theme is to give a chance to the guys who have paid their dues...Zeiler should get a look. And ya, I like his attitude. Richardson on the other hand, came out of the gate slow. And if we're being so critical of guys like LBarb and Gauthier for their starts, it should be consistent. Zeiler will have a positive impact. Maybe not goals, but lots of energy and a "whatever it takes" attitude.
What I don't understand is, how man Hockey fans there are that don't understand the concept of the "Enforcer" role i.e Ivanans. He's not really suppose to score, and if he does, it's bonus! He's out there to protect and to fight..that's it.
Hey guys, I'm all right with the lines. Say what you want, but I'm a Raitas fan, I know he's not going to score many (any) goals, but just seeing that mass of humanity on the ice to me anyway is fun to watch. Whatever about Zeiler and GOATier, Calder, I'd say has had ample opportunity to show us anything and ain't shown us much. I've been on Eee Zee's bandwagon since last year and am glad he's getting a chance to prove himself. I'll be at the game tomorrow, cheering on my boy Raitas whenever he's on the ice. So in honor of that little alternative lifestyle fella who had Britneys' back.....LEAVE RAITAS ALONE (sob sob)!!!! Go Kings.
T-Bone,
Armstrong did the same thing that you are saying zeiler will do. Where's Armstrong now? Richardson, in limited ice time, strong on faceoffs (61%), penalty killing, no goals against while on ice, AND a fight(one more than zeiler will have). Slow start? Compared to who?
