Terry Murray was asked after today’s morning’s skate if he discussed the games against Canadian teams in which the games are broadcast back in Canada. Perhaps, players put a little too much pressure on themselves?
“I should’ve done that up in Calgary, actually,” Murray said referring to the Kings’ 6-2 loss. “I don’t normally bring that up as part of the pre-game meeting. Players are aware there will be a lot of attention brought to the game and the Canadian broadcasting crew is following all those Canadian teams so closely, and they highlight the Canadian kids. They tend to have a little extra pressure put on them just knowing that’s there. Good point. Maybe I should talk about it more often. Going into Calgary last week. I can remember past teams I’ve coached some players tried to do way too much.”
