From the locker room

KINGS HEAD COACH TERRY MURRAY:

(Re: game recap): “The first period the goaltender was changed because the goaltender wasn’t good enough. We’re outshooting them 9-to-3 and we’re down in the game. Ersberg didn’t have it tonight and it ends up 3-0 at the end of the first period because of not stopping the puck. I really liked the way we came out and started the game. It was a great start, a perfect start, with all kinds of play in the offensive zone. Knowing how to get the win is a part we have to work on”.

(Re: changing game plan for back-to-back games): “I’m not changing the game plan. We played a heck of a game in the first two periods, we scored four goals in the second period to take the lead – what am I going to change? It’s a good attitude, it’s getting pucks to the net, and we did all the things right. We played hard and it takes 20 guys to compete at the highest level and get the job done”.

KINGS FORWARD DUSTIN BROWN:

(Re: game recap): “We were all over them in the first 10 minutes and they got some goals. The third [goal] was just a miscue by us and they’re up three quick goals, but I think we showed a lot coming back and taking the game over.

(Re: what was said after the 1st period) “We just came in here and said there is a lot of game left. We didn’t really feel like we played that bad of a period to be down 3-0. I think that showed in the second period when we came out and stuck to our game plan and put the work in and got rewarded.

(Re: the loss) “[It was] definitely disappointing. I think we know what we need to do, we just need to do it. It’s three games in a row and that’s not good enough. We’re a young team but that’s no excuse.”
