Back to Ersberg

Perhaps by default, as much as anything, the Kings will go back to Erik Ersberg in goal tonight. Ersberg allowed three first-period goals Friday against Edmonton and was pulled, and a couple days later, Terry Murray hinted that Ersberg was fatigued. He might have looked slightly better after Tuesday, when Jason LaBarbera allowed six goals on 26 shots. Here’s what Murray said about going back to Ersberg…

MURRAY: “He looks refreshed. He’s had a couple good practices and he looks like he’s ready to get going again.”

Here’s a quick Q&A with Ersberg:

Question: A few days ago, Terry talked about being concerned with your fatigue level. Is that a concern for you?

ERSBERG: “I have always played a lot of games, in my whole career, so there shouldn’t be a problem. The first games were better than the last game for me, but I guess that’s how it is. You’re going to have some bad games during a season, but hopefully I can have some good ones now.”

Question: Have you looked back at that last game and noticed anything in particular that went wrong?

ERSBERG: “I’ve been looking over it. We always go through the games, me and Billy Ranford, so if there’s anything there, we try to correct it. We try to stay on top of it, but that’s how it is sometimes.”
