Zatkoff to AHL

As mentioned yesterday, Jeff Zatkoff has been called up to Manchester, from the ECHL’s Ontario Reign. At the same time, the Monarchs released goaltender Jonathan Boutin from his professional-tryout agreement. Zatkoff had an 8-6-1 record, a 2.31 goals-against average and a .934 save percentage in 16 games with the Reign this season.

Seen him 3 times in Ontario. This kid has all the tools and is fundamentally sound. Question remains, how is he mentally for the challenge?

Off Topic, but Rich, see if you can’t put something up to advertise the new ‘All-Star Commercial’ posted on the Kings website. I just watched it and not only is it corny, but pretty damn funny! Everyone here would get a kick out of it…

One thing I noticed way back with Zatkoff, while playing for Ontario he is already sporting the Monarchs lion on his mask.

Thats the reason he was playing in Ontario and was sent down so quick after the first week of camp. Hextall was pissed when he showed up to camp with that mask.
