Avery on his way out in Dallas?

Dallas Stars coach Dave Tippett pulled no punches when discussing whether he thought former King Sean Avery could come back to the team. Here's the story.

Thanks Jill for keeping with this story. Makes me wonder what Andy Murray thinks of this situation. I bet he wonders what life would have been like for his team without that cancer in the locker room.
Maybe someone can get a comment from Mark Hardy on this, he really had a run in with Avery at practice and I am sure that wasn't the only incident.

Yikes! Dallas is a sinking ship. I actually thought they would start sinking in the standings last season, but this is worse than I thought.

In hindsight I realize trading Norstrom for Dallas' 1st round pick in '08 was rather shrewd on Lombardi's part considering he turned that pick into Colton Teubert (with other factors in play), but just imagine if we had their pick this season. Tavares and Hedman?

I hope Dallas has the balls to bury this guy in the minors or send him home for the remainder of his contract (or at least the rest of this year). That is what he deserves. Also, the fans in Dallas should be critical of Brett Hull. It was his idea to sign this cancer--and give him a 4 year contract. With all the problems that Avery has had, how could anyone give him a 4 year contract????

I think it would be really bad to send that cancer to the AHL to play and influence your prospects. I think they're best off just scratching him every game.

Dallas doesn't have an AHL team anymore. So having him influence all their prospects isn't the problem. THe problem is would any AHL team, made up of prospects from another NHL club, want Avery around? I think not.

"my sloppy seconds"? I thought for sure he must have said "my ex hos" or something like that. Whatever...

Personally, I hope he stays in Dallas and that team continues to implode around him.

Avery deserves to be punished for many things but if this is a suspendable offense boy I wonder what my employer should do to my whole group.

Avery's "apology" and "remorse" is pathetic. How many times do we have to hear him try to make up for whatever stupid thing he did or said and then have him do or say something worse later? The guy is damaged. He needs professional help. He only feels bad for himself because, once again, he is in trouble. He's incapable of viewing his behaviour from any perspective but his own. His tedious antics only serve to keep him right where he wants to be - the troubled, misunderstood, abused 'bad boy' lashing out at the world in a misguided attempt to prove he should be respected when he doesn't even respect himself.

The NHL should suspend him from any activity related to hockey until the next time Dallas plays Calgary. He should then be just out-of-shape enough for Dion to end his career. It would be funny to watch him eating "sloppy seconds" from a straw from that time on.

Good Heavens! Off color comments in the locker room! I was ashamed to be an NHL fan and watching Sports Center! Now I have to make sure my kids are supervised while catching up on the days sports highlights?
Thank goodness a game was on later so that the family could enjoy watching a bare knuckle fight on the ice and guys cussing back and forth at each other on the benches. *whew*

Send him back to the Rangers where he was perfect Sean Avery.

P.S. Since when is name calling off the ice the same as hitting someone in the back of the head with a hockey stick on the ice? Same punishment?

Maybe the NHL should hand out Stanley Cups to everybody at the end of the season, that way no one ever gets their feelings hurt.

Tito Jackson, thank you for being one of the few making sense about this. When we go to a Kings game, we always here "fans" spewing obscene language. It's probably some of the same ones on this site saying Avery is not human.
