The Manchester Monarchs split two games this weekend, beating Worcester 3-2 at home on Friday and losing 3-2 at Springfield on Saturday.
In Friday’s victory, Brian Boyle, Alec Martinez and David Meckler scored goals, and goalie Jonathan Quick stopped 43 of 45 shots. In Saturday’s loss, Vladimir Dravecky scored a goal and Marty Murray had one goal and one assist. Jonathan Bernier stopped 23 of 26 shots.
For the season, Bernier and Quick have identical 2.63 goals-against averages. Bernier has a 5-4-2 record with a .904 save percentage while Quick has a 5-5-1 record with a .922 save percentage. Teddy Purcell leads the Monarchs with nine goals and 19 points. Gabe Gauthier has a team-high 14 assists and is second with 17 points. Trevor Lewis has six goals and seven assists.
Manchester plays at Portland on Tuesday.
