Monarchs update
A mixed weekend for the Monarchs, who went 2-1 (I never claimed to be a math genius...) It started with a 7-1 loss to Albany, in which Jonathan Bernier got pulled after he allowed three goals on 10 shots. Jonathan Quick came in and stopped 16 of 20. The Monarchs went back to Bernier on Saturday, and he stopped 39 of 43 shots in a 5-4 shootout victory over Providence. Then on Sunday, the Monarchs put it all together in a 3-1 victory over Providence. David Meckler had two goals in the three games.

Does the AHL score differently or shouldn't two wins and a OTL be 2-0-1?
Correction: Does the AHL score differently or shouldn't two wins and a OTL be 2-1-0?
I think you mean they were 2-1, not 1-1-1. Also since there's been some talk about these guys around here lately- Voynov is back from Russia and had a goal and an assist in two games (both wins) this weekend and Lewis had 2 goals and 3 assists in the two wins.
The Sunday game was very fun. There was a lot of animosity in the air from the game before. Two fights in the first couple minutes.
But bernier is ready to be called up, right?
Get used to Ersberg/LaBarbera, people. WE DO NOT HAVE ANOTHER NHL CALIBER GOALIE READY TO GO.
We just may...his name may not be Bernier though.
