Postgame notes from the Kings...
-- Columbus' goal 18:36 into the second period broke the Kings' consecutive scoreless streak against the Blue Jackets at 186:39 (dating back to last season).
-- Jonathan Quick was named the NHL's Third Star of the Week (ending Dec. 28). He posted a 2-1-0 record with a 0.67 GAA, .958 save percentage and two shutouts in three games. Quick is the first Kings award-winner since Anze Kopitar was named No. 3 Star of the Week Dec. 9, 2007.
-- Quick has stopped 134 of 143 shots in six appearances this season (.937 save percentage).
-- The Kings have allowed 101 goals through 37 games this season. Through 37 games last season they allowed 125.
-- The Kings finished the 2008 calendar year 33-35-11.

What is the difference in the offense though?
Last season: 99 goals.
This season: 95 goals.
I might have to double-check this season's total...it appears that it might be 102.
