Preparing for the Avalanche

Here's what Terry Murray said about the Kings' preparation for Colorado, and what they might have learned from the first two games against the Avalanche. Colorado beat the Kings 4-3 on Oct. 20 and won 4-3 in a shootout on Nov. 22. Both games were at Staples Center.

MURRAY: ``Well, they were one-goal games. What we need to get is a focus on the checking part of the game. They have a great top line and they can really hurt you if you give them time and space. We really need support from our forwards to work with our defense and defend those short passes they make to get themselves in great scoring opportunities. That's their M.O.''
