Tonight’s game

Erik Ersberg will be in goal tonight for the Kings against Edmonton. That’s not a big surprise, obviously, and expect Jason LaBarbera to get the start Saturday against Columbus, but I wondered how the Kings would handle that, given that LaBarbera beat Edmonton last Wednesday. This is the 25th game of the season for the Kings, and each goalie has started 12 games. This is Ersberg’s first start against the Oilers.

Denis Gauthier, who suffered a foot injury last Saturday, is available to play tonight, but it’s up to Terry Murray to determine if he will play or whether the Kings will go with a pairing of Peter Harrold and Tom Preissing.

Brad Richardson might also be a game-time decision, given that he suffered a cut foot in practice this week. The Kings have been practicing with lines of Handzus-Moller-Armstrong and O’Sullivan-Frolov-Simmonds.

Also, Lubomir Visnovsky returns to Staples Center tonight. He has five goals, nine assists and a plus-3 rating in 24 games with the Oilers.
