I realize this game uses short rosters and they want maximum team representation, but I think Simmonds (and maybe an uninjured Moller) should've also been selected. Congrats to Doughty & Ersberg...

They should at least play 4 on 4. 3 on 3 is just way too open. Lets pray Easy E doesn't rip up his groin going post-to-post on all the 2 on 0's there will be!

congratst to both... I knew Donuts would be there, Ersberg shouldn't be too big of a surprise but I figured they'd pick Quick they had the choice. he fits the description "Young Stars" better, but really I'm happy with either selection. beggars can't be choosers, if the NHL had any sense maybe they'd pick both!!

but then, I remember this game when it came to Staples and these are very small rosters.

see at least one of the Jonathans next year, I'm sure. Quick or Bernier!

wait, is Ersberg going to be on the "Freshman" team? I realize he was only in down the end of last season, and therefore still a Rookie by league rules. but I figured he'd be up for Sophs if they were going by the strict letter of a players 1st (Doughty, Quick) vs. 2nd (Ersberg) year with more than a few games in the league. he had 14 before this season, 13 of them starts.

guess I answered my own question. Erik is playing as a "Soph", as suspected:

Does anyone else appreciate the recognition of our players but not care an iota about the all-star game, anymore?
Maybe if they held it on a Canadian pond and rewarded the winning conference with something....
Home ice in the Finals? 55% of league revenues rather than 50%? a Greek Islands holiday package?

3-3 should be amazing to watch. High tempo end to end rushes. i only feel bad for the goalies, but they willbe having a blast just being there for All-star weekend. Congrats to Easy E and Dewey.

3 on 3? Really?

If you want to show the excitement of this amazing game I say you get them to play themselves on EA's NHL '09 or NHL 2K '09. Now that would be something!!

If you are going to make a mockery of the sport you should at least go full bore.

PS. Please save your "It's for fun" "It's an all-star game" comments. Everyone knows this is an attempt for Bettman to show another way this great game can be cheapened to attract retarded fans who could care less.

Other than getting drafted 1st overall, what did Stamkos do to deserve being picked?

Anyway, congrats to Doughty and Ersberg.
