TM out-coached and out-matched by a convicted felon.
How pathetic.
Great job in finding this gem DL.

rich,

please ask someone, anyone, why they didn't respond to drew being taken out of the game. what was murray's reaction? brown's? o'sullivan talked big, but no one stepped up, as i predicted. and i didnt' have to go out on a limb with that. everyone in a kings jersey off the ice knew what had to be done, but unfortunately, no one in a jersey on the ice did. awful.

What a bunch of p*****s!! I have lost ALL respect for this team. What happened to playing for each other, playing as a team? Nothing! That a way to teach the young players!

Funny story, The other day I re-painted my Kings crown for the game here next week in Dallas. I had to watch the paint dry that day before I took the tape off. The sad part is that I think that was more exciteing then watching the Kings play tonight.
They look so FLAT I dont get it....Boyle is so good and if he would just use half his size and play with a little grit. He would be one of the best guys in the leage. I know you will all say I am wrong but whatever.
Just beat the Wings and the Stars on Sat. and all will be forgot. I just like to talk crap to the Stars fans
when I go to the games there, But if we lose it is a long hard walk to the parking lot.......Come on GUYS
GRIT...PRIDE PASSION POWER REMEMBER?

The loss tonightmeans nothing, what really showed tonight was that no one on this team cares for his teammates. You superstar rookie gets run and nobody does anything. Sully and Hardy both said something needed to get done after that hit happened and everyone one the kings did the opposite....nothing. No one responding to the Doughty hit made me embaressed to be a kings fan tonight.

Many errors tonite, even by myself for watching and having hope.Ivanans has no use to this club if he doesn't stand up to Artuken sp. get rid of him.Murray again fails by playing the rift raft and of course they respond with the usual bad penalties caused by slow of foot, and mad cow in the cranium. Krapitar again is degressing on schedule with all the other sand baggers.I put the blame mainly on Murray though for under utilizing and over using what he has dressed again tonite. He should be embarassed.Time to change the lines again?do not play your 4th liners when offense is needed, talk about a no brainer -literally.Fire Murray! He has done all he can with this bunch.

My comment has to do with Jarrett Stoll. I seriously doubt that Lou Lamoriello (GM of the Devils) would take him for free. I Do like DL. But I seriously doubt this trade. Matt Greene, fine, but what sort of discipline is that!!? Against the Ducks the delay of game penalty that almost cost them the game as it completely changed the momentum of the game, then tonight immediately after the Kings score he takes a needless penalty (his second of the night btw) and any mo they had achieved went up in smoke. Plus it starts the 3rd on the PK already down by 2 goals.

Is this the way he played in Edmonton? Wow, I certainly hope not.

Just read my own comments on Jarrett Stoll. It must be contagious. No discipline in my own comments. I'll simplify. Jarrett Stoll's decision making lately has been Very Poor. His penalties against the Ducks and TB were needless And momentum killers. I know many hockey players have fantastic skills and have worked many years to develop them.... But sometimes you wonder if they actually THINK out there.

Not sure what is happening but these players are not playing very hard....O'Donnell is a P---y for taking a cross-checking penalty....A CROSS CHECKING???? He should've gone after that guy who hit Doughty with a vengence....iI had high hopes for O'Donnell....hmmmm? There's a breakdown somewhere? They are playing too structured.

I think we may have to get used to struggling the rest of the way.
I don't see the point in changing the lines tonight.
Last game was a few individual mistakes.
Tonight looked like utter confusion.
Maybe we need a McLaren to help out till Johnson & Doughty return.
Preissing is in, but things are looking bleak.
We need something to stabalize things.
A new assistant named Igor?
A sniper named Heatley?
I'm not in favor of drastic moves at this time, but things are getting awfully negative.
Maybe we need to sit Ivan for a game.
Try to get back our skating and passing all around.
Calder actually looked pretty good and got a shift with Stoll/Simmonds.
They did well, I don't know why TM didn't come back with it.
Its hard to think playoffs, anyway.
I just hope the kids can find their games, if nothing else.
Boyle's looking a little slow still, but I think he's learning.
Purcell, however, didn't have a good game. Some questionable decisions.
Maybe give Lewis a call up and go with the Lewis/Boyle/Purcell 4th line.

Or:

Fro/Kop/Stoll
O'S/Boyle/Brown
Calder/Armstrong/Simmonds
Lewis/Zoos/Purcell

I don't know...

For the first time this season, I'm kinda at a loss as to what to say. The Kings are a better team than the Bolts, yet they looked far from it tonight.

I agree with Dan, Anthony, practically everyone; Artyukin should have paid for the hit on Doughty. Why didn't someone, Ratis, Greenie, Army, anyone step in and blast him? Big guy? Yea. But I'm a hellevua lot smaller & older than these kids and I was ready to fight this goon. OD was the only one that went after Artyukin; after that wimp of hit he put on Doughty, he wouldn't fight. If you're going to play that kind of game, you'd better bring your fists with you, except that no one for LA stepped up after the hit.

Speaking of which, I disregard the "unfortunate hit" analysis. Anytime a player goes into a player knee out, that's intent to injure. The Kings know that and should have reacted. They didn't. It doesn't say much for this team's character.

Eight goals in the past 6 games. This team needs scoring huge. I don't know what's wrong with the Kings. They're not playing the way they were at the beginning of the season. Worse, they're not playing with any passion. I'm not sure bringing in a bonified sniper would help right now. The team seems to lack any confidence to do anything on the ice. Even the thing the Kings have been known for this season, their defense is now breaking down. LA looked much better in the 3rd but by then it was too late.

Detroit is next. If the Kings are not careful, they're going to be on the short end of a major butt kicking Thursday if they don't come out of their funk. Worse, a season that showed so much promise seems to now be slipping away with no end in sight. Only 13 home games left for LA, hard to believe. Everyone on this blog knew this wouldn't be easy but if LA doesn't pull together quickly, they'll be in the thick of the Tavares sweepstakes for real.

That's a positive.

Hey EAT THE RICH, I know what you mean. It is looking pretty bleak. I used to live in the UK, and during some of the soccer games, you'd hear a commentator say that a certain team never looked like scoring. That's the way I'm seeing the Kings at the moment. They just don't. BUT I share partially the above comments that no one but SOD stood up for the hit on our franchise player, and as I already alluded to above, some of the decision making has been atrocious. Horrible penalties from Ivanans (not tonight) and Stoll. And clearly the passion just hasn't been there as it was in many games earlier in the season. So I don't see one person sorting all of that out. It goes deeper and I'm afraid I don't have the answers.... not for the Kings anyway.

Moondoggie said:

ETR...I totally agree, I think a call-up of Lewis would certainly help. I was also impressed with the play of Simmonds tonight, the only guy besides OD who attempted to go after Artyukin; he wouldn't fight Simmonds either, what a wimp....

Anthony seriously you need to lay off of Murray after every loss. He is not the one taking stupid penalties and blowing prime score opportunities. The core of this team is the problem and I think you know who is to blame for that. That being said I think the game has passed him by but he is being let down by subpar performances by his supposed star players. The Kings defense probably overachieved in the first half of the season and are coming back to reality. With 27 games left on the road it is going to be a long second half.

Tonight, in particular, I was watching individual players and not the flow of the game. The one guy that really looks lost out there is Sully. His talent is just not being utilized by this coaching staff. All the Lightning players were moving and I must have seen POS standing in place 3 or 4 times while the play was ongoing. Something is going on with this teams cohesiveness, because EVERYBODY (except RI, Army and Simmonds) was flat tonight. If our bottom line players are going to be the best ones on the ice, then we are in a heap of trouble.

I was at the game and I have to be honest, that was an embarrassment. It is hard to cheer on your team for 60 solid minutes when they look like they don't even care. I haven't seen anyone try to skate the puck in (except for Brown's drag move that never works), all we ever do is dump and chase, play the corners, and eventually give up the puck. We never shoot.

I'm glad Harrold got that goal though. He is starting to grow on me. What can I say, I like the kid.

Also, Boyle plays tough hockey for about half of his shifts. It seems like sometimes he forgets how big he is and then someone reminds him and he goes out and hits hard again, then the next shift forgets all over again. We are a team without an identity and it is starting to show, and if things don't change real soon, we are going to finish 1st in the running for Tavares.

We are currently 17-19-6. We have 40 games left. Even if we SOMEHOW manage to go .500 for the rest of the season, we'll only finish 9 points above last season's mark. However, I get the feeling we won't win 20 of the next 40 games. Not even close. Especially not how we're playing now.

Get ready for the longest half of a season in Kings history.

Credit OD and simmonds for tryin at least. I am done with Ivanans, I would take Parros back in a heartbeat. How he did'nt try and get somthing going, or at least running a few people is beyond me. What does he think he is out there for?????? I think its time we get a look at Westgarth.

Its good to see Murray a little pissed off about the guys not doing anything..... There is some good in the Old Time way of thinking.

They looked like bovine feces tonight.

Whatever happened to Flinn? That guy stood up for his teammates for the handful of games we saw him in.

On a note that I never take which is defending Ivanans, he did make a beautiful drop/centering pass last night on a 3 on 2. Unfortunately it was to Armstrong who overskated it and the puck went out to center ice.

They're not scoring STILL and that's an issue and now they're letting in more goals and taking dumb penalties. Stoll on one shift looked like a man posessed but it only lasted one shift.

I'm glad you guys aren't blaming Labs. He's only gone two weeks so I figured he might still get some shrapnel.
