Boy did Brown ever blow that 2 on 0, perfect pass by Kopi and he can't put it up top shelf.

Can someone tell me why the Kings(no matter who it is) can't put the puck in a empty net? Brown then Purcell, what the heck is going on.

For the most part, that was two completely blown 2-on-0's. I don't think "Woops" is acceptable anymore.

On a sidenote, for anyone watching on Center Ice I've said it before and I'll say it again, the Wings announcers are amongst my favorite opponent announcers. They're pretty smart and they do their homework on teams. They know about the Kings issues with Drew, guys playing in Manchester together, Bernier, etc...

Let's just say that they're no Blue Jacket announcers...

In response to the first 2 on 0, I think Kopi held the puck too damn long and closed the gap for Conklin. By time the puck got to Brown, he was on top of the net. If you havve a dvr, watch it in slow-mo and see if I'm wrong.

I have to say that if ever you watch a montreal canadiens game you'll apreciate the other teams commentators. As for tonights game LA just sucks, they need to find some scoring..

I will agree with the comment on at least one of the Kings announcers, Bob Miller. He is as close to genius as a play-by-play guy can get. But... Rick Fox and his endless run-on, run out of breath sentences drive me friggen crazy! Not that Mickey Redmond is any better... but at least he scored 50 goals in a season.

I really want to see OD come out in the 3rd and make a statement, 4 goals down, no chance here, a vet needs to step up and do something that will get this team fired up. I don,t want to hear, " well in a 4 point game we need to be careful, blah blah blah. what the F. If were going to get our butts handed to us every night then we need to be the team that everybody is afraid of playing because were going to beat the hell out of them. If were playing for a high draft pick then lets pick up the tempo and create conception of fear amongst teams that we play.

From an earlier post, I love Army, would love to see him stay, he is a King, Wants to be here no matter what his roll is. Good for him for not complaining and doing what is asked of him.

Shakes...funny as hell. I love Beavis and Butthead but it just isn't enough to make up for this depressing play. Kings need to shake things up (ie trade someone or fire the coach). No reason why our defense is so poor. Guys are just not into it.

i was thinking the same thing. so progress this year is apparently making it into january with a decent record before coming apart.

I know our offense needs a lot of work over the next few seasons, but it seems our defense will need some help too. Even if we don't score, we should be able to hold the defending champs to fewer than 4 goals. They were passing around us like we were standing still. At least there was some more heart in this game, but that needs to translate into on-ice production. As a fan, I'm as frustrated as the Kings looked out there.

We will get there but this looked like Detroit vs a farm team and gave them a schooling, also not one goal was Quick's fault and he made some great saves. So something really good has risen to the surface and pretty damn Quick.

I think it is high time we used the left wing's approach to the middle east situation as regards to the kings. We need the Red Wings to have a proportionate attack...they should not be allowed to score first or be up more than 2 goals. It is not fair that they get power plays (they are already more powerful) ..where is Amnesty international when you need them? Let's march down Figueroa on Saturday and protest this outrageous show of strength by the Wings. Bring your banners, bring your masks and absolutely bring your sticks to wave around. Was Terry Murray even running his bench? Why didn't he use his time out? Was he waiting for Brownie to call it? Why does he insist on pairing Goatboy & Tom P. together? Why couldn't Terry just put Tom with OD & leave Goatboy with his original partner. Why would Terry pair up the 4th line with arguably our slowest defensive pair & then keep them all together to get burnt yet again.

No Terry was not on the ice, but if you are a head coach you need to lead by example as well and NOT give up on your team before the puck is even dropped!

if we had Labs in net it would have easily been 6-0 and he would have got hooked in the 2nd. meanwhile E-Zee-E would have stepped in and blanked them the rest of the way.

however, now that he's gone, i am seeing all of our other issues and its depressing.

This has been going on for months.
Tonight is was the 4th line with Gauthier/Preissing
it used to be the 4th line and Gauthier/Harrold.

Always the 4th line and 3rd defensive pairing together.

I will say this, our defense without Doughty got tremendously worse. Kyle Quincey was the only defenseman that I thought looked good. Harrold made some nice plays and is really growing on me. Hopefully next year a rookie will pull a Drew Doughty and blow us away with his performance, cause God do we need it.

THERE it is. I've been looking for Labs shrapnel from you haters since he left. Fact is 6-0 or 4-0 wouldn't matter. You still put ZERO pucks in the net.

Quick wasn't to fault tonight and Labs was solid enough in goal that you only needed 3-4 goals a night and he would have been above 500 but the kings are making a season of scoring 1 or 0 goals, maybe two on a good night and Dominik Hasek had that problem when he was in Buffalo too so it's not the goalie.

keep giving labs grief though. I'm sure next season you'll figure that it's his fault because he's not here and we're still losing.

On the upswing, Doughty and JMFJ will be back soon so the defense corps gets our two best guys back and they're both young and with the team for years.
