No more ``Rinkside'' games
Thanks to Quisp for finding this...
I'd actually forgotten about the whole ``Rinkside View'' thing -- or perhaps I was just trying to block out the memories -- but Fox Sports announced today that they're finished, no more.
Here's the story, courtesy of the Orange County Register. No comment from Fox Sports exec Tom ``Don't Watch'' Feuer...

About the bloggers
Rich Hammond has covered the Kings, on a full-time or part-time basis, since the 2000-01 season. He was the beat writer for the entire John Torchetti era and has witnessed Bob Miller singing country music in a Nashville honky-tonk bar. A native of Los Angeles, Rich has worked at the Daily News since 1999 and also serves as the paper's deputy sports editor. E-mail Rich at rich.hammond@dailynews.com.
Jill Painter joined the Daily News in 2000 and during the last eight years she's covered the Dodgers, Cal State Northridge, UCLA, Kings, golf and everything in between. Even though she's from Colorado, she still freezes in the Staples Center press box but always manages to thaw her fingers in time to make deadline. E-mail Jill at jill.painter@dailynews.com.

Yeah, I noticed we hadn't had one for a couple months. I honestly kept meaning to ask, but kept forgetting.
HOORAY!! If I wanna see ice-level coverage of a game, I'll shell out $150 for those tickets. It's more enjoyable that way, anyway.
Did Feuer get the boot, as well?
if you read the article my favorite part was the first comment:
"Stephen Says:

Excellent. Now if the Duck could just get some decent announcers, Anaheim’s televised games would be watchable."
Tom Feuer is the biggest douchebag in the history of the world.
The comment was funny. Probably a Kings fan.
Now, with respect to rinkside view, and with all due respect to Rich and OCR reporting, I saw nothing in that article about it being discontinued for Kings broadcasts. Did I miss something?
Finally, I hated rinkside view as much as the rest of us. BUT, I recently purchased my first HD TV and I'll admit I wondered what rinkside view would look like in HD. Guess I'll never know. :D
It is about time.... The fans speak out and they finally listen.
Damn, I kinda liked me some rinkside! /
Yeah Shakes, can't stand "homeboy" Hayward... Could be just spoiled with JF & BM though...plus he's the duckie announcer after all..
Is Shanhan playing tonight?
Rest in hell rinkside.
Oh and Tom?
Don't watch. Your input is unecessary.
Now if the Kings can do the same thing with that third jersey...to kill two bad ideas in one season...
"Is Shanhan playing tonight?"
he wasn't even signed by gametime...I think he's expected to sign shortly (maybe today)
