hey jack, welcome back!
This is good news. We needed some good news. If only Doughty were still in the lineup.
Now that Doughty isn't in the lineup, it is obvious how much he brought to this team... Look at the Detroit game. Wow.
Please tell us Gauthier is not playing.
Damn Wavesinair, you beat me to the same thing, but I would've put it: welcome back, Jack!
Hopefully he'll inspire something to get the team jump started.
What about Ivanans and Westgarth?
what is the roster move that will go with this? Who is going on IR or getting sent down?
Leave Mongo (Ivanans) out for a few games...see if that steps up his playing.
Jack's back baby. Once Drew is back we'll have an awesome D and we can go back to shooting the puck more. Good news all around.
Not sure how to feel about Goalie situation. Really like Quick and think a lot of the goals against arent really his fault. At least 2 of last nights goals were on bad turnovers. Gauthier's behind the net give away was terrible. I'd like to see Quick back but he probably could use a day off. If Ersberg lets 3 in on 7 shots again we're in trouble.
I guess with the way the team is playing JJ early return is extra welcomed... too bad Doughty is out though.
Glad Ersberg will be in net:
-Quick played good against Detroit (but not great/bad) and doesn't need to answer his own game right now.
If the Kings won 5-4, I'd still play Ersberg against Dallas. (for the reason above)
*hoping Brown and Kopitar play (well) on separate lines*
Good to know that we're not panicking and bringing Jack back too early.
I'm sure he needed the two days between last night and tonight to heal completely.
Yay!
I hate to be that guy but, if jack just started contact drills in the last week, shouldnt he wait a little longer to make sure he doesnt get hurt again?
Also, I hope DD is ready to play on JJ's welcome back game.
-They need that big of a spark right now (...afraid anything less will just fizzle away).
Rich what about Westgarth will he be in tomorrow?
Hooray for Jack being back!
I think that may be more "Charlie" than meets the "Horse" with Doughty's injury. I hope that he will be back very soon.
I bet that Ersberg does a great job at Dallas.
Dallas is no Detroit; I expect to see some scoring as well.
Leave Gauthier and Calder out...put in Ivanans and Westgarth...
this team needs some fire so all I have to say is ..
KILL! JACK! KILL!
I with those who are wondering if we're bringing Jack back too soon. He seemed pretty adamant that he wouldn't return until after the All-Star game.
I can't wait to see a JJ and DD pairing though! Hopefully Drew will be back soon.
I, like all of you, an a fan of JJ. I just hope the coaches aren't rushing him due to the slump. Losing him for the rest of the season is not worth it. Jack if you don't think your ready until post-all-star break, say something. Otherwise, its good to have yah back.
I have to agree with ETR. What's the hurry to bring Jack back? He's insisted all along that he didn't feel he'd be ready to play till after the all star break. The kid just had shoulder surgery. If it's not 100% healed, and he takes a hit again, it could be his last game....ever. What's the rush?
I have to agree with what your saying Paul, but JJ got the green light....and maybe a few games before the all star would be a good idea (just bc he has the green light) and also to get his feet wet again.... Also, we don't have DD in the line up till next week...so we have to make some adjustments.
Just thinking logically, the Kings know they have no urgency to bring him back. I'm giving the benefit of the doubt that he was only being consistent from a PR approach with his message about coming back after the break. I'm sure that a guy as important as JMFJ won't be put in harms way if they don't need to. If he has been cleared to play, and its not the playoffs or close to, I believe its for real.
FREE JACK JOHNSON! FREE JACK JOHNSON!
The Lord giveth (Jack Johnson) and taketh away (Drew Doughty).
Yes! Jack Johnson will give a big, big boost for the defense and with Drew Daughty look out! I hope we will see less goals for the opposing team and less pressure on the goal tenders. It will be interesting! The offense though has to get out of this stupid slump.
We really need to see him become JMFJ this year! We need to get the "kill jack kill" going at home games to support him, fire him up to be the player we all know he wants to be!
Welcome back JMFJ!!!
Drew is playing yay, but no Westgarth again.
We will just have to see if JJ coming back means a whole heck of a lot. This is a guy that if everyone looks closely was traded because Jim Rutherford told him he needed to get out of college and learn to be an NHL D-man. He got a big fat ZERO out of that last year of college. TOLD the KINGS he wanted to play those last 10 games to collect his bonus and pro-rated salary. Is that good business on his part or SELFISH ? Lastly please tell me other than a few decent games and so far an ability to get hurt he has not shown the kind of talent that DD has. Plus he has not stood out on the D as DD has. I would love nothing more than to see JJ be all a lot of you want or thing he is...but the truth be told he is YET TO PROVE THAT on a regular basis. If the rest of the team is going to be held to a certain standard then let's fall out of love with JJ until he really is a stud every night and can find a way to stay healthy.
