Mr. Brown is my favorite King, but he needs to really improve defensively.
That early goal was really bad play by both Brown and Greene.
I hope Ivanans doesn't play anymore.
His role isn't needed for this game.
Wow! 15 seconds in? Glad to see they got off to a good start!!
All kidding aside, it is nice to see they they were able to come back and tie it up in the 1st. My big fear on this roadtrip is that they just roll over for one of these games.....
(these early starts are killing me-- work is overrated)
!!! I'm glad kopitar is back to normal finally. WOW!
Gave it right to him in the slot, gonna be a long 9 minutes....
I think the chat crashed??? It froze on me then I couldnt re-load after I refreshed the page. Bummer. Hinging on to a 1 goal lead with a power play coming up!
Christ give me a heart attack...
Great win against a quality team.
Great final goal by Calder. He was the man.
Oh. I forgot. Anthony wants him waived. My bad......
Great win by the team! A little nerve racking those last minutes the Caps were pressing hard and man Quick came up huge! 5 W 1L in the last 6 games keep it going the team is playing better as of late. I think I noticed that right before the all star break something was different with the team.
Last 6
W: 5
L: 1

GA:17
Kyle Calder MAY have cost the Kings two points in Montreal, but he totally redeemed himself by WINNING them back with his goal tonite. Craziest game of the season, but they played well in the first two periods and found a way to seal the deal down the stretch, although it was too close for my taste.
Win or at least play two good road games against New Jersey this weekend, Detoilet on 2/27 and in Boston on 3/19 and I'll be satisfied by whatever the fates allow for the Kings.
As for tonite, fun game to watch and a big two points against another tough Eastern Conference team.
GO KINGS
One of these days the Kings will have a team that doesn't make us biting our nails the last two minutes because they can't clear the puck.
They did a great job in the first and second...laid back a bit in the third but got a key goal from Calder to win it. Frolov needs to bury that empty netter, and he could have had 5 or 6 goals tonight. No goals but he's generating GREAT quality chances.
I dont care what anybody says, Calder is playing great and the kings need to sign him to an extension. 1 year, 2.5 mil. That line has been unreal lately and if tonights game shows anything, that if the Kings can have 2 scoring lines and outstanding goaltending, look out.
Not a game for those with heart/blood pressure problems. Man can the Caps look good when they're on. But sucks for them, Quick was better. Should've been #1 star, played outstandingly. (How the hell was Frolov #2 star?! The game should not have even been close. He can't score against Federov, let alone a goalie. ROOF THE PUCK ALREADY!) Most everyone looked great for the first 2/3 of the game. Nice to see Kopi score, but more importantly he was moving, both up the ice and back-checking. The exception of course was Wrongias, with his totally stupid penalty. Amazing that we beat these guys twice, but unbeknownst to even us avid fans, these Kings can be fast. Who knew?
Stoli played an outstanding game...at least what I saw--he was flying, made a great hit in the 1st, then took one for the team on Calder's goal in the 3rd.
Kopi, Sully and Fro are finally getting their groove...Fro's a bit snake bit. Yeah, if he would have buried a couple of breakaways, it could have been 7 or 8 goals tonight!
Great game, scary, but they're learning to win the big games, in those hostile buildings!
Oh, and did you hear Gretz talk about the homer refs in last night's game in Detroit? I wonder if he'll get suspended for a few games?!
Scorers came through tonite as well as Quick steals another 2pts.MURRAY NEVER PUT KOPITAR OR BROWN OUT THERE IN THE LAST MINUTE,THEY DO NOT TAKE THEIR MAN,THEY ARE ONLY LOOKING FOR THE EMPTY NETTER.Please teach Greene how to punch, gotta be one of the worst fighters on the team, although willing.Trade Calder if you can get anything for him right now.Moller should be ready to go any day now.Murray stop this 3rd period preserve the lead mentality it is not going to work out in the long run.Play aggressive with your top 3 lines.Wake up!
The first goal was caused by the mishandling of the puck by Quick which in turn caught Green off guard. Brown was on the side boards in position for the breakout pass like he's supposed to be so let's put the facts out there. Secondly, when the Caps had the extra man out at the end of the game, Brown and Kopitar did their jobs by forcing the puck outside and making the Caps shoot from there. Quick did his job and stopped the puck from going in the net. Too many people in front of the goal playing goalie is what causes those crap goals (Montreal) to go in. It was a good effort by the Kings against a strong team. Let's all be happy with the outcome and stop this nitpicking BULLSHIT after every game. It gets sickening. Lastly, I wish Anthony and the other Calder bashers would get over their nonsense because the guy is doing his job and doing it pretty well. It's obvious by looking at the success that CBS line has had over the last seven games.
Marty, what game were you watching? Kopi came in for the face off in the right circle with 15 seconds left and Bob even made a point of mentioning it AND they asked him about it in the postgame interview. Besides that, further if TM was keeping them off the ice wouldn't that be good coaching? Your previous posts state that TM is a horrible coach. If you can't find the positives in this great win against a great club on the road, you would probably complain about being marooned on a desert island with SI swimsuit issue girls. Wah, I can't believe they're running around naked again.
The first goal was Quicks fault, not Greene, not Brown. As the previous poster (or two up) stated. If your going to bitch, get it right.
Insofar as Kopitar out there at the end of games, there is one reason why he is now (although last night I called him the softest 225lb. man I have ever seen). IT'S TO LEARN PEOPLE. Anyone with any delusion that Murray is doing anything more but teaching right now needs to wake the _______ up.
Yes, it's nice they are winning, and I'm enjoying it like every other fan, but overall, this is a teaching year for Murray and that is what he is going to be doing.
Marty, give it a rest. They beat the WASHINGTON CAPITALS, and you still come on here bitching about something. No one cares what you have to say and no one wants to read it. Go post that crap on LetsGoKings with the rest of the whiners. This blog is for Kings FANS.....
HBFAN13, What island was that?
mr. brett, mr. anonymous,
i don't understand how you blame that first goal on Quick, of all people.
Brown, on a faceoff win by Stoll, cannot just let his man walk past him to the puck.
Greene, on a faceoff win by Stoll, has got to get to the puck behind the net FIRST, and make the play without hesitation to Jack Johnson who's waiting for the pass 10 feet away.
How you blame Jon Quick for the turnover and the centering pass to a forward waiting to bury the pass is beyond me.
Not trying to nit pick you guys, but blaming Quick for that is off the mark. He's a goalie. In that situation his job is to play the net, not the puck.
Goal#1: Greene was slow to the puck. (Prolly because of his injured foot, not being warmed up yet).
