Kings recall defenseman Drewiske
Following Denis Gauthier's five-game suspension, the Kings have recalled defenseman Davis Drewiske from Manchester. Drewiske is tied for second on the Monarchs roster with a plus-four rating.
Here's the release from the Kings:
Drewiske, 24, has one goal and 11 points (1-10=11) in 46 games with the Monarchs during his rookie season and he's tied for second on the team with a plus-4 rating. In addition, his 63 penalty minutes rank third overall on the team. Drewiske, a 6-2, 215-pound native of Hudson, Wisconsin, has not played in a regular season game with the Kings this season. He will wear jersey No. 44.
Last season, Drewiske finished his senior season at the University of Wisconsin by recording 21 points (5-16=21), 46 penalty minutes and a plus-6 rating in 40 games while serving as captain of the team. He also tied for first among Badgers defensemen with five goals and his 21 points ranked second among club blue-liners. The Kings signed Drewiske as an unrestricted free agent on April 1, 2008, and he finished last season in Manchester, appearing in the Monarchs' final five regular season games (5 GP, 0-0=0, 6 PIM) and four postseason games (4 GP, 0-1=1, 6 PIM).

Anybody or ANYTHING is an improvement over Gauthier.
I don't know much about him but I hope our genius coach doesn't replace Harrold as our 7th D-man playing forward.
I'm not joking - If TM puts him on a forward line with Kopi and Sully, he deserves to have his house egged.
Don't wear #44, Drew! That number is cursed!!!!
One other thing, do the kings have any plans for Piskula and Bagnall.
Do they fit for this teams future?
This guy Drewiske is awesome in my NHL09 :)
lets just see what the kid has. Were people expecting Voynov to get the call? Drewiske is a good a call as Piskula or Bagnall. Not sure of the kid's upside but I have heard good things about him. At 24, a little old for a rookie (college hockey will do that) but he may be more mature of a defenseman than some.
I love it. give the kid a good look, who knows what could happen. Also, who knows who's watching. Were so deep this may be a chance to show what we have in terms of trade bait.
Must totally suck to be Tom Preissing right now. (Yeah yeah, he's still making millions.)
I agree about Preissing....lol, so much for any trade value he might have....6th round pick anyone?
Wait Preissing is on the team? Since when?! I thought we paid him $2 million a season to post on his official blog...
it's size and strength they need. At maybe 190 lbs, Preissing does not fit that bill.
