Here are some Terry Murray quotes from the Kings' website, off their road report, which can be found here.

(on the playoff hunt...)
MURRAY: ``We're shooting to make the playoffs. We know you have to play very well to get yourself in there. Guys are responding. There's a great locker room in there. They care for each other and it's carried onto the ice.''

(on forechecking...)
``I think we did a pretty good job on our forecheck. We wanted to get pucks in and establish the forecheck early and we were doing that. We were kind of following the way things were set up in the pregame: Get it in, get on top of their defense and make good reads with your two and three.''

(on the Kopitar goal...)
"Transition game is a lesson I think I learned from the New Jersey Devils over the last 15 years. They're one of the best transition teams in the game. You have to have good defensive posture, and when you do, maybe you get lucky and knock the puck down and you get back on the attack right away," Murray said. "With three skilled players (Kopitar, O'Sullivan and Alex Frolov) entering the offensive zone, and they made a good play. Maybe we got a little bit lucky with that pass in the air but it was a big goal.''

Making the Playoffs ! Isn't it nice to be a KINGS fan and be talking about making the playoffs this time of year.

I wish the team started addressing the future as going deep in the playoffs, or not just being satisfied with MAKING the playoffs, does anyone else agree?

@Anonymous...baby steps, baby steps...

Also Rich on a highly important note, if you get a chance can you ask J. Quick why he changed the back of his mask? He used to have the goalie on a beach sunset picture, and from last night it looks to be a King's crown now. why the change?

Shakes,

I remember them saying that Dean Lombardi hated Quicks mask. I think that might have something to do with it.Also the Quick written in the front used to be orange as well now it is silver.

Sorry but everytime I hear the word "Playoffs" I can't help thinking about this:

Seriously though, I think the Kings should just concentrate on keeping up their game and whatever happens, happens. Never mind what the other teams are doing above them.

Funny stuff, that.
Gotta agree. Let's start by beating the Islanders on Tuesday............

Murray was talking about being lucky. I think you create your own luck. Being in the right place at the right time on the ice creates those good scoaring opertunities. I think this team is learning about this aspect of the game. Most goals are scoared from almost right in front of the net through tipins or deflections. And lets hope they can continue to do just that.

@ doug, good call on the red writing in the front. i forgot about that. whatever works. J Quick does have one of the best goalie masks i think. there are no members of a band painted on it or no obligatory "Hollywood" pictures

Shakes....Uh, yep.

I really want to see the Kings make the playoffs and go deep, upsetting a few (Sharks, Wings, etc) along the way.

But....

Let's get by the Isle first. One game at a time everyone, one game at a time. Don't loose focus on the big prize and, more importantly, the future which by the way looks very bright....
