With all do respect, I really do not think there is much interest in figure skating on this board. I'm not knocking the sport, but this isn't really the place for that. This is a hockey-related board, specifically about the Kings.
Jill, regardless of your interest of this team, most if not all readers here look to this page for information about the team, not about figure skating.
Maybe I'm reading some of your postings out of context, but even some of your comments were insulting as well:
".... meanwhile, the Kings are going to miss the playoffs for the sixth consecutive year."
"The Kings aren't going to make the playoffs, so we can have a little fun on the blog."
Even though the Kings are most likely not going to make the playoffs this year, it seems that the tone of how your coming across insults the loyalty of fans. It just seems like your pushing your target audience away.
Thanks Jill, nice piece!
I have to disagree with your opinion, Anonymous. Since when do the readers of this blog or any have the authority to dictate what the Administrators who run this site can and cannot post? The article had more hockey-related relevance than most of the drabble of opinions posted by the readers. They can post whatever they feel relavent to the blog. Or they can post nothing at all and you can go to one of those other Kings-slanted sites where everything is rosey and everything the Kings do is the most important thing in the world.
As far as your interpretation of Jill's comments as being insulting, I think you are just being too sensitive. The Kings' playoff hopes ended about two weeks ago. You can sugar-coat it any way you want, but they are NOT going to make the playoffs. If everyone here is allowed to express their opinions, why not Jill and Rich? This is a Blog, not a newswire service.
It no more insults the loyalty of fans as the Truth does to sober some fans blinded by the delusion that the Kings are what they are, a promising young team who will fail to qualify for the playoffs for yet another year.
Did you even bother to read the article? It's a great human interest story with a hockey-related theme.
I respect your opinion, but I think you are being too sensitive here. Lighten up, Francis, it's a Blog...
It's great to see all the support for Jill being posted.
Like Duckhunter, I'd like Jill to know that there are plenty of us who appreciate her work and her contribution.
Thanks Rich, Jill, all ITC posters, and all those who've made this one of the most in-depth Kings seasons (for me personally) ever.
I've followed the Kings for a long time and not until I discovered this blog did I get so much "Inside" information on what is going on with the team.
I also apologize for rumpling any feathers. I never intended for anything to be taken too seriously. It's a game after all, even though it can be frustrating to be a Kings fan sometimes.
Let's see those playoffs next season, eh?
Cheers.
The Mroz story is inspiring and much appreciated.
I can't fathom how difficult it must be for this kid to deal with the losses he's endured but it sounds like he's a young man of incredible character.
Good luck to him in his career and hopefully we'll see him in the next olympics.
I'm sure it takes as much bravery to attempt those jumps as it does to step on the ice in the nhl.
Any update on the young girl (McMurtry) from thousand oaks and how the fundraiser went?
To the first Anonymous who clearly didn't appreciate Jill's contribution to this blog... it's not really difficult. You just don't bother reading the article. That simple.
Thanks, Cristobal. I'll see if I can find anything out on the fundraiser.
