big beef here...

if fro stays on that line throughout the game...

this is the official public lynching and king management justification of the eventual trade of frolov....

i'm really upset if this is how they are going to treat this guy...unbelievable...

i will reserve full judgment until after the game...

unreal...

why don't you blame him for the economy while yr at it...!?!?!

Interesting... On the Penguins radio broadcast pre-game show, they listed Justin Williams as a scratch.

Think the Pens are as unprepared for JW?

They give the Kings at 96 5-5 goals, least in the NHL evenhanded. The Kings are -28; the Pens are +16 evenhanded.

MagicArc said:

Ya know if Fro plays better the economy will pick up.

BakoCACondorsKingsFan said:

Variable--how do you account for the Kings being the last place team in the NHL on 5 on 5/evenhanded?

Somehow I think the forwards are responsible for that. What do you think?

Cheap Seats said:

Wow, Frolov on the 4th line. Honestly, is this the time to be sending messages or trying to win games? I dont see how putting your leading goal scorer on the 4th line is making an effort to win the game....

I like Frolov... he's a good player. But it seems like he makes one bad play in a 3rd period and he gets the pine for the rest of the game. The Bruin game wasnt the first time Murray has done this to Frolov. I know he wants to set a standard for everyone, but Harpo just kept sending JJ over the boards after he had a horrible giveaway in the 2nd period. Or what about Ivannas? He's had so many bad penalties that have cost us a goal/momentum, he should be playing for the narchs!

Fro has played on the 3rd line in a shutdown role, he's played on the top line and everywhere in between. He's still one of the best goal scorers on the team... and there are very few forwards I'd rather have out there to protect a lead.

It WOULD be nice to see Williams and Frolov up there with Kopi, wouldnt it? Reunite the CBS line that was producing for the 2nd line. Zeus/Simmonds/Richardson to shut down the opponents (they were effective when they were together).

I guess we need to make sure we have some scoring pop on Army's wing /sarcasm

Sorry for the rant...

WOW bad give away by Williams....Leads to goal.

williams gives it up...and frolov will be blamed for not being on the ice....i really hate this decision t.m. is making...totally unjustified...and, imo, stupid....

OOOPS!!!

welcome back to the nhl mr williams.

there is this guy named crosby on the other team...maybe you've heard of him. anyways, make sure you don't make any blind passes if you're on the ice when he is.

thanks,
jack

t.m.....

great job....jw giveaway....kopi giveaway...in fact...besides simmonds and greene...has anybody else showed up tonight...?

i bet it's that big mouth frolov giving the team a baaaaaadddaaaassss attitude....let's blame him...c'mon, t.m....i know you want to find a way to do a kevin bacon and put the blame on alex...

battling for our playoff lives and sending inappropriate messages to yr team...genius....

When we play a team with a top 10 forward (Crosby/Malkin/Iginla/Ovechkin etc.), we are so outgunned it is embarrasing...

During those games, it is difficult to defend ANY of the Kings forwards...

Jim Fox is terrible. "Third man in! Third man in!" What the heck was he talking about? When was the last time anybody called that in a scrum?

Yet another "Deep Thought by Jack Handy". lol

Seriously... Blind pass in your own defensive zone? There was nobody even there ready to receive it. That's a kid's mistake, not a professionals.

What's up with playing Peter Harrold on penalty kills? He can't be trusted to cover his man so Zeus comes over to help out. They overload the side and get scored on back-door. TM needs to get a clue!

Why are we sitting Moller tonight?

Duckhunter Author Profile Page said:

Forget Williams giveaway, did you see that sick backhand. One day we'll have somebody with that type of skill.

Garrett said:

Boy this plan of not letting Frolov play on the power play sure is working well!

Stupid Murray…

nice stretch by Quick. Thought for sure it was another goal

yep duck, it's not like crosby was alone in the slot. a dman was right on him. incredible shot. i love that jw is scrapping tho. he was ready to throw down with crosby.

simmonds and cook to the dressing rooms???? wtf?

You guys can celebrate being almost at 500, but despite some unbelievable wins this year this team is just so bad. Seriously, I don't know how this team is going to be better next year. This organization is the joke of the league. If there are considerations for reducing the size of the league, it is our beloved Kings and not the Ducks that should be retracted. Put us out of our misery.

They have very little time before pissed off fans just become people who don't care. Here's to AEG losing another butt-load of money. You deserve it.

JT Snow said:

It would have been bold to do so.... But I have always believed Quick to be not as good as Ersberg. Now granted the team for some reason has played better in front of Quick than ersberg.
I myself would have gone with Ersberg. He had a rough outing last week but I would have gone with Ersberg. I hope he starts the third and the team does something...
Ivanans should not be in the lineup. Bottom line.
I stress again, we shoudl be trying to win every game....Development takes back seat here....Best players play...Ivanans should not see the ice period......

I am anxiously awaiting anthony's comment about the williams turnover....... He must have Tivo'd it or somthing, or he had a heart attack........

On another note, Pac-10 is kicking ass in the tourney so far 4 upsets I think

After watching this game so far:

-Kings did not arrive into Pitt until 2:am
-Justin Williams will be fine.
- Pitt will be in Cup finals after picking up Guerin and Kunitz (sp)....

It's that simple...we aren't quite good enough...YET...and neither is Quick....***sigh**.

Will someone give a good assessment of how JW did? Cannot watch the game so appreciate all the info...thx.

KevinC Author Profile Page said:

Very pathetic.

Sure, the Penguins are a better team, but seriously, where is the effort?

They are getting beat to EVERY puck whether it's in the offensive or defensive zone. There's really no excuse for that.

Reb Author Profile Page said:

Seriously, why is Ersberg the only goalie pulled? Happy for Drew making it 4-1.

Sure Williams made a pretty bad turnover that ended in a goal but he already has shown more heart than Sully

Cant make a judgement on Williams since it was his first game..... Nasty turnover, but decent forecheck and stud up for his teammate...

Purcell looking better each game

BAKO:

sorry this is late...

yr question about why we are the worst team at even strength is a good one...

i think the major issue with our play at even strength is the unpredictability of t.m.'s line changes...

anytime you constantly change the lines as much as he does, yr bound to get cross ups and gaffes....

and i think that was one of the issues POS had with the game to game changes....

there are times when t.m. will practice with certain lines and completely change them at the beginning during the game....

i think that's the major contributor to the even strength play....

you couple that w/a very yound dman core, and that's what you get....

frolov played almost 9 mins in the 3rd....17 for the game

i'm soooooo glad to see t.m. play stoll w/jw and fro with less than 7mins left in a (then) irrelevant game....way to go, t.m....!

if it wasn't for simmy's 10 min misconduct, we would have waited until tomorrows practice to see that line....and then probably watch him change it as the game starts....

i like t.m...but his treatment of frolov is crazy and unfair....and the constant line juggling has brought me vertigo....i think that's how t.p. got his....

Quisp Author Profile Page said:

What was the Malkin cheap shot? My "tivo" lept over to tape something else at 7PM, with a minute left in the game.

Anonymous said:

He saw Simmonds comming in on him, he tipped the puck away and threw a head shot at him. looked just like the head shot Goat threw. Below the shoulder with the elbow coming out a little late. I hope it is reviewed by the league.

Johnb said:

Look, we have to cut Williams some slack. His first game back after injury and playing with a knew team.Ya he turned the puck over and it led to a goal but it happens.

Last night in the third the Kings started using the D-men on the attack and we won. I have been complainig about the dump and chase with three men all season but last night Murray got desperate and changed the attack. Tonite fist shift Doughty went staight to the net on offense, I could not believe it! If Murray starts giving the forwards help this will add a whole knew dimention to our offense as it will give the forwards some space. The skilled players up front will get much better chances. Maybe TM is not as rigid as I thought. Lets hope he keeps doing it the rest of the season. It might show are true potential.

Playing Fro on the third line...

I have know idea what he is thinking.

Vicarious said:

Frolov will be an able player in a red wings jersey. If the RW pick him up, we can watch him torch the Kings if only we can avoid the octopi.

TM's main fault seems to be his love for the philly players. Any other player makes JW's turnover and they sit the rest of the game.

I'm not sure one can complain about constant line changes because the lines were never certain. Why TM has made our best (maybe 2nd or 3rd best?) forward his whipping boy is odd. Or he needed a new whipping boy since Sully was traded. If Frolov is not confused by this point it must be because his optimism embraces chaos. If I were Frolov, I'd look to get out.

Johnb said:

Sorry that should have been 4th line.

Marty said:

Maybe J IR Williams wrist is still broke,OOPS .Meanwhile Sully gets the shootout winner in Chicago tonite for the playoff bound Oilers.Bad trade Deano,Bad Trade!

DellaNooch Author Profile Page said:

JW looked a little lost out there, should have put him with Kopi and Purcell, dropped Brown to Stoll & Calder, put Fro with Simmonds & Handzus...and for crying out loud, get Moller in there, what's the deal with that? He can play with a combo or Army, Richardson, Calder, and/or Harrold.
Pitt didn't look that great tonight, we just played that bad...and we need to start checking with some authority, we're getting soft again...
Lastly, Malkin needs at least a couple game suspension if not 5 games for that check that was exactly like the one Gauthier put on Georges, except it was clear Malkin was going for a cheap shot.
