After the Kings' initial power play, sounds like there is total Bruin domination...
Kings=NotReadyForPrimeTimePlayers; Boston 1-0.
On the Bruins' goal, what the F was JJ doing out on the point and leaving Fro out to dry?
Secondly: Is Brown hurt? The last six games he's been weak with his puck skills and his hitting, something that sends up a warning flag.
Rich, can you find out?
I don't get it.. these lines have proven to be ineffective yet TM still goes with them? Harrold as a top six forward is a disgrace to hockey.
Keeping Moller on the bench does absolutely nothing for his development. Please, someone enlighten me here.
Damn 1-0.
Side note, TM is not good for Mollers confidence.
He should be sent the WHL.
Rich, I must admit, your patience is unprecedented.
I hope I spelled that right.
Kings getting outclassed tonight. Playing like a team that doesn't care. The entire ice is tilted in their zone.
JJ got ridden off the puck by Kobasew behind his own net, dispossessed and then it was in the net.
What is Raitis doing?! Can somebody enlighten us? Down 2 zip and he's taking these types of penalties. Earlier in the season Rich and everyone else thought, next year, playoffs a good certainty. If this type of thing continues, I'd say they'd have a good shot at another lottery pick.
Wow.
number 6,
I agree. Did you see Ivanans complain after the first penalty? He slashed the guy so hard his stick shattered! Then when that penalty expires he doesn't even make it to the bench before he takes another. As Mike Milbury puts it: "Ivanans doesn't belong in this league."
But I do have to admit, the Kings are playing hard. Quincey is a monster tonight. Quite simply, they are being outplayed by a very good team.
Funny how Millbury calls having players like Ivanans still in the league "dodo birds" well our management doesn't have just one dodo bird in the line-up every day but two. Love the high approval ratings of our dodo birds.
Getting out classed tonight. Surprising...JJ -2, unfortunately he is dragging Q down with him -2. Oh yeah Fro -2. Dont get the line combinations!!! As previously mentioned by everyone else: "why is Harrold on the 2nd line?". Everyone has observed that Fro and Kopi, Stoll and Brown have chemistry. Simmonds is working his but off, and Kopi is trying, other than that no offense.
Not too far fetched to imagine JJ getting packaged with either Fro and our first rounder for Kovo or Heatley. Dont see how JJ can command a big raise. Personally would not offer more than 2.5 over 2 years. Had a great oppurtunity on the PP and missed the net with 2 guys in the crease, puck ended up along the boards and out of the zone.
Really frustrating to watch, and a waste of sleep at 0145 hours from Norway.
This is what makes me crazy about TM. Fro is held to another standard than the rest of the team. Ivanans takes stupid penalties...no problem.
Gauthier doesn't clear or takes stupid penalties...no problem.
Fro turns one over...bench baby!
With 5 minutes to go in the third and a second Boston power play, at least the Kings made this a game, at 1-2...
Yeah!!!!!
Stole a point/Can the Kings steal two?
To be fair, Milbury was a horrible NHL GM.
Double Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THAT'S what playoff teams do: steal games on the road!!!
The Crown Rules!!!
wow! nice 3rd period-grat PK and Quick saves our bacon!!!
Only watched the third but the kings really played well in the third. Only saw Ivan and Westie in the beginning of the period. great strong play in front of and driving to the net. nice win.
Honest to God, I was so close to posting a comment saying "So did our captain get traded to Edmonton with O'Sullivan, because I have no idea where he's been..?"
And he scores the overtime winner, to finish the comeback. I love it
Awesome comeback! Go Kings Go!
Wow, I love all the bashing, Please have a little faith in our guys. What a great come back. Brown??? yes it was with the OT goal.
That win was epic. This has got to be a huge confidence boost. How about Army tonight? That guy deserves some third line minutes after the way he played tonight.
We really need Williams ASAP if we have any hope of making a playoff push. That second line is absolutely invisible.
Good things happen when you create traffic and go to the net for rebounds. Great work in the 3rd and OT.
I'm guessing why no Moller tonight
Chara + Moller = serious blow to the head.
Moller is not scared to hard into the corners, and Chara loves to go in right behind them. Looks like TM got the boys motivated there in the third. Again Great come back. A win against one of the top 2 in the league is a huge moral boost... NEXT
Anthony,
I was just hoping you could explain to me how sending Moller down to juniors from the Kings wouldn't hurt his confidence but keeping him with the team does? The reason players aren't kept up if they aren't playing isn't because of a confidence thing but rather a playing time issue. With Moller I feel like Murray is concerned about his small size more than anything and probably having him work harder in the gym right now to bulk up a little. Stamkos did a similar thing earlier this season when he was scratched a few games and came back playing much better. The Kings want him with the big club in a playoff chase, that should give him confidence. Just wondering what your thoughts are anthony ;-)

a) great third period, that kind of stuff, regardless of playoffs, builds chemistry in the room and builds confidence. Thats gotta feel good. B) anyone hear Bob Miller taking a shot at Don Cherry? How awesome was that? I gotta say that with him and Vinny for the dodgers, we really have the best broadcasting in LA. Lets go get the Pens.
Thank God that the team isn't as negative as most of you as soon as they fall behind
Who knows with this team...Frolov is capable of being such a good player...he is lazy....this team is exciting to watch at times...now the consistancy has to come into play. I cannot comment anymore for lack of understanding....*sigh*
Good to see Quick back to form. A hot G could give us a shot.
I didn't watch all of the game, but from what I did catch, on our side of the puck Simmonds, Purcell, and Doughty seemed like the best three on the ice. Harrold looked good, too.
Another great game for Wayne, and I am excited to see Ted grow in the NHL.
Great game by Quick, kept us in it, no bad goals.
Doughty solid on both ends.
Hurray for Gautier (rhymes), no penalties.
A bit of redemption for Brown, who has been sucking.
Kopi strong on-ice leader. His line, in large part due to him, was the one line to put consistent pressure on the B's.
I like Purcell. I'll like him more as he gets more confidence.
Quincey? Turnover --> goal against.
J(MF?)J got pre- elementary- middle- and high-schooled.
12:45 ice-time for Frolov. Face it Fro-lovers, he's gone in the trade for a high-powered scorer. G-O-N-E
Well, well, well....where are all the TM bashers tonight?? Moller was a scratch, Harrold played on the second line, Ivanas played a ton of minutes, Westgarth played, Gauthier played, Calder played, and guess what?? WE WON AGAINST THE BEST TEAM IN THE EAST IN THEIR OWN BUILDING!!!!!!....so all you people that just wait until we lose, think you have all the answers and just post what the guy before you posted....YOU ARE A JOKE!!!! ha,ha...that's why you're sitting in front of your TV and computer every night, and TM and DL work for an NHL team. YOU HAVE NO CLUE NOW PLEASE STOP THINKING YOU KNOW MORE THAN THEM!!!!!
GO KINGS GO!!!
I love the fact that TM separated Ivanans and Westgarth on different lines. This way, there will be at least one player willing to drop the gloves, whether its the 3rd line with Westgarth/Simmonds, or the fourth line with Ivanans/Armstrong, or every defensman with the exception of Doughty. TM is the best coach this organization has ever had. Love the fact that he benched Frolov, can't wait until he gets traded in the offseason.
Just curious, what do you guys think about trading Kopitar and someone else, like JMFJ for a guy like Rick Nash? I would do it, JMFJ is going to be a free agent, Kopi has a large salary, why not bring another north american to play alongside Brown?
ps - anthony, Ersberg, Alley and cristobal....this win tonight was for YOU!!!! HAHAHAHA!!!!
Dear Dustin,
Welcome back.
Sincerely,
The Kings and their fans
What do you Frolov haters hope to get for him in the off season? A 30 goal scorer? Oh he already does that.
Yeah lets trade our leading goal scorer...brilliant.
Army was working hard tonight. He was looking to take the body any chance he got.
Simmonds had another good night. I am so impressed by Simmonds consistancy night in and night out.
Quick had a strong game.
Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then.
And a broken clock is right at least twice a day.
Terry Murray is making our dreams come true.
Meaningless wins when the playoffs are out of reach.
Now THAT is progress.
Yeah cristobal except we're 6 ponts back with 24 points up for grabs! Finishing 2nd in our division (arguably one of the NHL's best) & above .500, regardless of playoffs or not,IS progress...unless you're delusional. And both those things are, without a doubt, within our grasp. What, you think you're going to just jump back on the bandwagon once all of this hard work bears fruit next season???
15th in our division is also within our grasp...
Where are all the TM bashers 2nite?? So after a 3 game winning streak which had everyone thinking playoffs we went 1-2-1 and you want the TM bashing to stop? TM bashing would of never started if he stuck to the lineup that had gotten us a 3 game win streak. His Ivanans and Westgarth playing decision was great right? Back to back penalties were great right? Harrold did so well 2nite on the 2nd line correct? We won despite stupid decisions. Quick saved us. 1-2-1 and a virtual no shot at the playoffs isn't gonna stop the TM bashing.
More proof that plus/minus is a somewhat misleading stat:
O'Sullivan is criticised for going minus-1 in an 8-1 victory for his new team while scoring an assist on the power-play.
And Roloson will probably also be lambasted for having a 25-17-9 record with a 2.72 GAA and a Save percentage of .916.
Atrocious, right?
