Greene's crimson mask

My apologies to the squeamish... There's an even better picture, one I received via e-mail, of Jonathan Quick just staring at Greene's head, but unfortunately it's not an AP picture I can post. (but here's a link)

I think this is just a case of bad luck. I don't think you can call him a warrior because his face got hit by a puck. If he had a chance to react, i promise you he would. That being said, he does play warrior like and I love having him as a King.

It's on the Kings website if you look at the photos from last nights game - about 10-15 or so pics in.

The Quick/Greene photo is begging for a caption contest.

Not only did Greene get up and go back to Quick after getting a puck to the face, if you watch the replay, at the very alst second, when he looks back to see whatever the canucklehead was doing, he reacts to the shot, not by turning away again, but by lifting his shoulders to make himself as big as possible, I imagine, to stop the puck from going over him. Warrior at his finest.

As for the caption:

"You owe me a coke"

and just because I can't help myself:

"Maybe next time you'll stop the 60 foot slapper"

"Yo, Adrian!"

Textbook way to block a shot with your face LOL... I bet he wished he blocked the shot like DD did earlier feet first instead of face first :)

Tremendous game from AK... I think that was his best game in a Kings uniform! He was so dominant at both ends of the ice. His play in our zone was flawless. Outstanding coverage in front of the net, great puck protection behind the net and in the corners and in perfect position for quick outlet passes from the D. It was a forsberg-esque performance and gave us a good glimpse of the vast potential that he has.

What a bad time to have such a long break when we're playing so well... hope the boys can maintain the momentum going into this weekend. I think the next 3 games will pretty much determine whether we have a legit shot of making the playoffs. I can't believe there's only 4 home games left out of 16 games!

I think that was a gutty and dangerous think to do, and you have to be a tough guy to do that. Greener is a gamer, and only cares about the team. That is great.

Re Greene/Quick photo:

It is very rare for a photo to capture the moment a young man grows up.
Jonathan Quick is a good goalie.
Now, he just might mature into a great one.

And as for the Caption ...

Greene: "Who took that shot?"
Quick: "Alexandre Burrows."
Greene: "Piss on Alex Burrows."

So how is he? Am I missing where there is an update on his injury?
