Frolov will eventually end up moving up a line or two by games end...this is part of punishment for inconsistent play.
Man thic coach has so much hate in him.
First Moulson,
Then Sully
Then Boyle
Then Frolov
Then Purcell
Then Stoll
Then Sully again - Traded
Now Frolov again - ?>>>>>>
But never Handzus, Calder, Gauthier, Williams, Hextal, Lombardi.
Frolov is in the doghouse!
Frolov-Armstrong-Harrold
Just another clear indication we may lose our leading goal scorer. So, what are we all going to say if Fro gets hacked? Would you guys like that? I know I wouldn't.
Forget about whether or not our management wants him re-signed, he just may not want to.
I hope you're right, mrbrett7. I don't like our leading goal scorer being on the fourth line.
I'm more curious on why they take Calder away from Handzus and Simmonds more than anything. That's usually a pretty tight line.
anthony, what the hell is wrong with you? I quote, "But never Handzus, Calder, Gauthier, Williams, Hextal, Lombardi." Never Williams? Tonight is his first game ever as a King! Never Lombardi? Lombardi is Murray's boss! Never Handzus? Handzus has been one of the best players on the team all season!
And to complain about O'Sullivan being traded as though Murray made it happen! Lombardi makes trades, not Murray. I would be willing to put money on it that Murray was given absolutely no say in that personnel move, the exact same amount he has in every other move the franchise makes.
Playing Frolov on the 4th line punishes the rest of the team in the middle of an alleged playoff drive. If the Kings can beat the Pens with Ivanans logging more minutes than Frolov maybe I'll buy into TM's motivational techniques. Frolov still has a better chance of scoring marooned on the 4th line than Calder or Brown do on the top lines.
They hate on Fro way way to much....If this is not a kick in the gut...Damn Fro is the best puck position guy we got. Come on TM....
"Frolov-Armstrong-Harrold"
WTF
luckily for Fro, he can skate with anyone and make them better. he'll probably be back on a normal line by the 3rd period if Murray wants to win this game at all.
How can anybody defend TM??? This is just plain stupid! Oh and we can say bye to Fro this off season
You people are SO negative.
Fro is getting a little punishment, but really, I see this as a way to run 4 solid lines and even out playing time after an exhausting game last night AND to make sure he doesn't overwork Williams his first game back. I'll bet the 4th line gets as much ice time as the 2nd line does for the first 2 periods.
When (If it is necessary) TM shortens the bench, Fro will play with Stoli and JW on the 2nd line.
Calm down people. If TM was truly pissed, he'd bench Fro. THis way, he's sending a message and giving his team a chance to win with 4 solid lines who will share pretty equal ice time.
Garrett, that's just anthony's attempt at making a sad connection to Flyers again.
"Man thic coach has so much hate in him."
Wow, that is a lot of hate. Seemingly an unreasonable amount from a professional who doesn't seem to have the cloud of a bad reputation dogging him.
Almost makes you consider that what is actually unreasonable is your interpretation of why he does what he does, because clearly your theory on his motivation leads to some pretty absurd places. But just almost I suppose...
If I was coach for one game (tonight), regardless of whose in the doghouse, but based on name/style/skill, I think this would be a good set of lines:
Frolov-Kopitar-Williams
Calder-Stoll-Brown
Purcell-Handzus-Simmonds
Ivanans-Armstrong-Harrold
The CBS line is proven, Simmonds and Purcell together with the experienced Handzus between them could do some damage, esp. the way they played last night, Fro/Kop/JW (strictly skill-wise) might be the best this team can offer.
That's 3 solid offensive lines, and then the thrashers on the 4th.
Garrett,
TM and Sully didn't get along.
I'm sure he had something (perhaps minor) to do with it.
Funny but I remember many famous NHL players who endured this kind of treatment in order to make them better players.
I just wish we didn't have to have guys like Harrold in his place to send the message. I also hope that it isn't necessary for Frolov to be a healthy scratch. Maybe he'll get the message and become a full time player.
"Man thic coach has so much hate in him.
First Moulson,
Then Sully
Then Boyle
Then Frolov
Then Purcell
Then Stoll
Then Sully again - Traded
Now Frolov again - ?>>>>>>"
Yes, because TM traded Sully. right.
you guys need to calm down about Frolov...
he is one of the best players along the boards in the NHL...he is one level away from being the "elite player" in the NHL...even Datsyuk said about frolov that he is the most underated player in the NHL
He made some defensive mistakes last night, so TM is sending message to him...so he understands what he needs to do better next time....eventualy that will make him better player..
by the 3rd period, he'll be on the 2nd line....
anthony, you base that assertion on absolutely nothing. Lombardi is not going to move a player he thinks is a key part of the team's future over a spat with the coach. You have this delusional hatred of Kings management/coaching and you attach meaning to meaningless things like line combinations. There is no way the Kings traded O'Sullivan because he didn't get along with Murray. These people are professionals and they don't risk professional success over personal disputes. If I don't get along with someone else in my office I don't quit or try to get them transferred. I suck it up and do my job.
By midgame I expect things to look more like:
Purcell-Kopitar-Williams
Frolov-Stoll-Brown
Calder-Handzus-Simmonds
Harrold-Armstrong-Ivananns
Doughty-Johnson
Greene-Quincey
O'Donnell-Drewiske
Why doesn't TM treat everyone the same! Frolov is gone after being treated like this. What an insult. I hope Fro goes somewhere else and has an even better career.
Lombardi does use the term "WE" when talking about the O'Sullivan trade.
And, I'm sure he wouldn't trade away one of the coach's few scorers at the trade deadline if the coach was absolutely set against it - especially for an injured player.
AND, everyone and their brother tries to blame the Cloutier debacle on Crawford instead of Lombardi.
If Frolov goes, we go with him.
This kid/man has more character than a GM that lies to the fans, the press, and his players, and his bosses.
And, more understanding of how to play the game than a trophy-less, retread coach who doesn't even understand assignments in the defensive zone.
