Brown nets two for USA
Team USA played its final warmup game yesterday before the IIHF World Championships, and Dustin Brown scored both USA goals in a 5-2 loss to Switzerland. The first goal was on a 5-on-3 power play and the second goal was with a two-man disadvantage. Team USA plays its opening game in the tournament on Saturday morning (7:15 a.m. Pacific time) against Latvia.

The Swiss? Seriously? They lost? WTF!?!?
The Swiss are actually really good, but not 5-2 good. I'm almost positive the Swiss are in the top 6 or 7 teams in the world.
Wow, how often does one score killing a two man disadvantage.
Who does everyone feel should not have been ommitted from the USA roster? I would have liked to have seen Stastny and Quick added
Stastny is still hurt I believe.
The Swiss are decent, yes, but there is no way the US should be losing to them, especially that badly.
Brad Richards scored twice this year, while the Flyers were shorthanded 5-3.
....you mean Mike, or if it was Brad, thats one for evey wrist he's broken this year
USA is ranked 6th and Switz is ranked 7th heading into the tournament.
It's a prelim game. It matters not.
BTW- the U.S won the U-18 tournament earlier this week.
Must have felt good for Dustin to know what it feels like to put the puck in the net again... it had been a while.
I agree TeamHasHoles. Maybe that is why he is playing...to regain his scoring confidence. I would have thought that he would want to rest his back and spend time with his family, but I suppose that he has the rest of the summer for that...and there is nothing that compares to representing your country. Good Job Dustin, keep it up.
go, dustin...!
Oops...yup, I meant Mike Richards.
"Who does everyone feel should not have been ommitted from the USA roster? I would have liked to have seen Stastny and Quick added."
Half of the blokes in the playoffs currently.
:(
SO YOU"RE SAYING THERES A CHANCE.....
Backes and Oishie were just added to team USA's roster. Pretty huge when you consider the level both of them are playing at, and the absolute bone crushing checkers they both are.
Just these two additions take my prediction of a 5th place finish up to a bronze medal, no joke.
