Peter Harrold?
Are they crazy?

Peter Harrold???? as what? LOL.

Marc Nathan,
Maybe Harrold will be the designated luggage carrier for the real players on team USA.

Jack Johnson! I'm so proud :)

I'm guessing O'Sullivan also made the team, right?

That's awesome! Especially for Harrold/Quick, don't think they've represented their country much (at all?) in the past..

Vicarious said:

Why the hate? Either the USA selectors believe Harrold will contribute at the tournament, or perhaps they are tanking for a better draft pick.

No offense here but I understoon Brown's problems with the family taxing on his mind. Shouldn't he be staying home to deal with that and get things straight hopefully before the next season of his real job starts up in September?

congrats to all of our american studs...

a bit surprised on peety wheatstraw...but maybe his versatility is what they are looking at...

if you consider all the kings player who will be participating in the w.c....how can you not be enthusiastic about the future...?

AK 47,
You're right, Sully made the team too.

iansez Author Profile Page said:

haha! "peety wheatstraw"?? Harrold?

Personally i don't understand how you can be a fan of the King's and make fun or put down a King's player when they are selected to represent their country.

Looks like Harrold will be used as a forward

"Goalkeepers: Robert Esche (SKA St. Petersburg, RUS), Al Montoya (Phoenix Coyotes).

Defencemen: Keith Ballard (Florida Panthers), Zach Bogosian (Atlanta Thrashers), Ron Hainsey (Atlanta Thrashers), Jack Johnson (Los Angeles Kings), Matt Niskanen (Dallas Stars), Ryan Suter (Nashville Predators).

Forwards: Jason Blake (Toronto Maple Leafs), Dustin Brown (Los Angeles Kings), Nick Foligno (Ottawa Senators), Peter Harrold (Los Angeles Kings), Kyle Okposo (New York Islanders), Patrick O’Sullivan (Edmonton Oilers), Ryan Shannon (Ottawa Senators), Drew Stafford (Buffalo Sabres), Lee Stempniak (Toronto Maple Leafs), Colin Stuart (Atlanta Thrashers), Colin Wilson (Boston University, HEA)."

These guys were selected, whether or not they choose to go is another thing.

Good for our guys, good for Sully........ You gotta love Taveras saying Sully is one of his favorite players.

What about Dustin Brown's "late season back injury?" Wouldn't he be better off resting and healing his back than playing in a physical, competitive tournament? Backs are a tricky thing and can become chronic, if you're not careful.

marc Author Profile Page said:

I think the reason Brown goes despite his back injury is that this is an important Word Championships. The 2010 Olympics is coming up & while these aren't the only guys Team USA has to chose from, if he on the roster & has a good tournament it puts him in the minds of the Team USA executives when they're picking the roster.

And for those of you who are making fun of Peter Harrold, keep one thing in mind. The Kings never actually had to have him in the lineup. They could have left him as a defenseman & made him mostly a healthy scratch. They could have also had at various times Armstrong, Zeiller, Richardson, or Moller in the lineup as forwards instead of Harrold. Or they could have called up someone from Manchester. But he was in the lineup for 69 games this season. Doesn't that tell you something, that maybe they like what he brings to the team? I know some of you think that you know more about hockey than Terry Murray but you really don't. And remember that interview Rich did with DL a while back where he asked about the prospects who he thought were going to be in the lineup this year? The only guy he was sure was going to crack the lineup was Peter Harrold. So maybe he's abetter player than you think he is.

Hey, anthonyy, when was the last time you were selected to anything? If you don't like Kings management that's one thing, but to continually denegrate the players is uncalled for. Why don't you get a life!
