With their fifth-round pick (No. 126), the Kings selected defenseman David Kolomatis from Owen Sound of the OHL. Kolomatis, 20, is 5-foot-11, 189 pounds, and totaled 18 goals and 28 assists in 63 games last season. He also played four games with Providence of the AHL, under an amateur-tryout offer.

The US National Development Program describes Kolomatis as “Smooth skater, very light on his feet with excellent edging. Will jump into the play smartly when presented with the opportunity. Pretty good in his own end. Strong on his stick and uses leverage very well. Showed some slick moves scoring on penalty shot”.

This guy and Trevor Lewis were signed in 2006 by Owen Sound when Futa was there. I think it is no coincidence we draft him now.

I was wondering if he may have been a re-entry into the draft. I didn't see him listed anywhere.
