McCauley added as scout

| | Comments (12) |

Thanks to reader Jayson for finding this in a Hockey News story. Ken Campbell reports that the Kings have hired Alyn McCauley as a pro scout. McCauley, as you probably remember, had to retire in 2007 because of serious knee problems. McCauley was an assistant coach at Queen's University last season and now, at age 32, will be a scout.

McCauley back in

That should be all for tonight. Who will be up with me at 7 a.m. for the start of the second round?

Let the jokes begin. I'm going to assume that they're paying him a salary on top of his buy-out salary and not just, you know, guilting him into it.

I'm happy for him. Let's see if people are civil.

And yes, I will be up at 7am. Even though f'ing Tampa picked Carter Ashton, who I was hoping would drop into our laps at 35.

Anthony, this is your second and final warning. I've asked you to not turn every single post into one of your personal rants, when it has nothing to do with the subject. There won't be any further warnings. Don't apologize, don't explain. Just stop. Thank you.

He is a character guy and has a lot of class. I am happy for him and glad to have him still apart of the organization. I see this as a good move, I hope he makes some good picks for us in the future.

I'll try to wake up early and catch the 2nd day of the draft, lots of intriguing prospects to pick at #35.

Morin would be a good pick. Just as the Dodgers have a ton of 'Blakes', we could use another 'Drew'. Drew Shore is still available. Anyone have a good 'best remaining' list?

Rich, which channel are the final rounds on?

Thanks,

I'm happy for AMac. Got no beef with him. Welcome!

Rich, I'll be up with you in spirit my friend. I hope to wake with exciting news.

I'm hoping for a side of Tatar salad in the second round.

I like the Schenn pick. We need more guys on our team with grit and sandpaper. When you have a couple of snipers, this is the type of player that wins playoff games.

Rich - did you see that chatter about Lombardi getting shut down by management on a potential trade with Toronto? Can you ask him about that if you check a chance. Thanks for the coverage.

I'm up and ready for the rest of the rounds. Are we having a chat, Rich? I'm not sure that there will be many of us today.. great crowd yesterday.

I'm hoping for Klingberg (but feel Detroit will select him), but would be happy with Budish, Tatar, Morin, or O'Reilly.

Another interesting name is Hanowski although, I'm uncertain if DL would draft a kid out of a Minnesota HS.

Wow... Kyle Clifford... Ranked 182 in CSB Final Rankings. I'd say that's a little off the board. Can't wait to hear about this kid from the Kings view.
