Rich,

I think some of those Kings picks you posted are wrong.

Should be: 35,74,96,117,119,125,137,155,178,185,197,202

I believe Tron is right. I think Rich is working off an old list that doesn't factor in the fact that Toronto had to forfeit the 118th pick as a penalty for doing something naughty. Thus, everyone moves up one, which is why the last eight picks are all one off.

Although I half-expect DL to pick someone I've never heard of, one of these five guys will be available, although I wouldn't hold out hope for Klingberg or Budish.

Carl Klingberg
Zach Budish
Drew Shore
Chris Brown
Joonas Nattinen

I got an error message trying to submit a comment. So I will repost and then go to bed.

One of Klingberg, Budish, Shore, Brown and the Finnish guy whatsisname...Nattinen I think, will be available by the time we pick. I hope DL gets Budish or Klingberg but of course there are four picks in front of us. Cross fingers....

I will predict the guy DL drafts that you probably have not heard of is Tomas Tatar.
I hope we get a chance for Morin or Eakin.

Detroit hasn't drafted in the first round for ... forever.

Today is the day champions are built. The players you pick in Round 2 and thereafter are just as, if not more, important than the gems you find in Round 1.

That said, I will trust Lombardi and staff to do a good job. As much as I like Dave Taylor, this current front office staff is way better than its predecessor. The Kings are fairly loaded in the farm system and that puts them in position to make the trades we all want to see.

My crystal ball says Gaborik and Clowe are Kings next season.

Make that 84 and 107. Scratch 74.
