Coming attractions

| | Comments (13) |

With the start of training camp now less than one month away, here are some of the things I'll be working on and that you can expect soon...

-- The Q&A with Luc Robitaille will hopefully be done this week. There are a ton of great questions, and I'll do my best to get a representative sample of them answered.

-- I'm hoping to chat, in the next few days, with Tim Adams, the Kings' new strength coach, and get his thoughts about the team and his first couple months on the job.

-- Training camp previews will start this week, with player-by-player breakdowns.

I'm open to suggestions for anything else that folks might be interested in...

Hi, Rich!

Love your blog and all the effort you put into keeping us Kings fans up to date on what's going on. Any chance you could do a Q&A session with Nick Nixon and/or Daryl Evans? Thanks.

Really looking forward to all this Rich (esp. Tim Adams, really curious about his thoughts), thanks as always!

Would it be possible to talk to Billy Ranford about Quick and Bernier? I'm curious about how they've worked over the summer to improve and additionally what he thinks about what could be a heated competition between them in training camp.

Rich,

The coming attractions look great. This is easily the best hockey site in all the land.

My suggestion: thn.com is doing a daily build-up to the coming season by unveiling the 2009/2010 order of finish from 15th seed to 1st overall in each conference. How about doing a daily poll for each conference and at the end of the day the winner (or loser depending on seeding) is the Inside the Kings pick for that seed for the season. Start with pick 15 and after that team is voted on you post 14 for the next day and so on. It might be fun for the fans to see as a whole where we all thought the Kings and other teams, especially rivals, actually finished versus where we speculated they finished. What do you think?

Hey, Rich. How about a Q&A with Tim Leiweke. Open the questions up to the fans and take the ones that are appropriate. That could be fun.

Hi,

I would be interested in an update on what DL expectations are for this season. How will he measure success/progress? What are his thoughts on making or not making the playoffs. How is he measuring his own success...are we not in year four of his five year plan???

Same for Terry Murray and the coaching staff...

Interwievs with Futa or Yanetti(sp?) would be apreciated.

Rich, I want to personally thank you for all the work you put into keeping us Kings fans all up to date with what goes on with the Kings. If it weren't for you, I don't know WHO else would be as accountable as you are with keeping us all informed with everything.

But when you talk to Luc Robitaille can you tell him a couple of things I would like to see done around STAPLES Center like for example- Why don't there be a wall with-in STAPLES Center that they can paint a big thing of Kings historical moments, players that are retired with the Kings, and etc.. on the wall would be nicely decorative.

As for when you talk to Tim Adams about his new position with the Kings. Ask him a couple of questions like- what is a typical workout that he gives the Kings players to do, also what improvement, if any, has he noticed in some of the Kings players since he has taken over as the new strength trainer and condition coach.

How about a Pacific Division preview? We're not in this division alone. :D

How are the Rusian kids doing, are they working out with the team? Does anyone know which players are working out and how hard? SI has the kings 22nd in their POWER Rankings, do you agree, or disagree? Where do you place us in the division?

Hey Rich, I'm surprised nobody has suggested it yet...but I think it would be AWESOME if we could do a Q and A with Dustin Brown. I think in terms of his perspective as the captain, it would be a lot of fun to get his opinions (where appropriate) about the team, the league, etc.

Hi Rich,

I'd really like to see an online photo gallery of butts sporting LA Kings tattoos. (It may be apparent to some of your regular readers that this has become an admittedly kinky fixation of mine. But I also think it's a valid endeavor as far as expressing ones commitment to the team.) I'm sure Dean Lombardi -- and all us fans who appreciate a beautifully illustrated derriere -- would endorse the effort.

On a related note, could you ask Luc if he can suggest that Staples market a variety pack of LA Kings temporary butt tattoos? Maybe even have a "Butt Tattoo Night" for one of their home games this season? I have a hunch there could be a new trend there. Young, old, male, female... A great way for us all to show our support.

Thanks!

You could do me a big favor and try and find out why Deano didn't think it would have been worth 1.5 million to bring Todd Bertuzzi in for 1 year of being a large force in fornt of the net on our 4th line.

Thanks
