Marty Moose! Marty Moose!
And the #1 reason a hockey fan knows we are in the month of August is...
Definitely this post :)
The departure of Marty Murray leaves the Monarchs with exactly zero veterans with significant NHL/AHL experience.
Will the Kings ever see the value in signing a couple vets to help these kids figure out what it means to be a pro hockey player? Check out the success records of the Chicago Wolves & Hershey Bears - their parent clubs understand the value. These teams have both won Calder Cup championships, and have a steady & strong pipeline from the AHL to the NHL of players who are clearly capable of producing when called on.
I totally understand the need to have prospects get ice time; but they can only get so much guidance from the coaching staff. There is definitely a need for a couple vets in a lineup in Manchester...
Welcome home Marty :)
