Maybe I’m reading too much into this or I’m seeing what I want to see, but at this point it looks like one could infer that TM wants to put Kopi with Williams and Smyth. Coaches often put lines together from day 1 of training camp, and there are no other wingers in Kopi’s group that are possible line-mates.

I don’t think it coincidental either that Handzus and Simmons are together, with Frolov right there as well.

So that leaves from group B, Stoll, Brown, and…Purcell? Oh, but Stoll’s hurt; so here’s your chance Moller.

    Ahhh, Sunday morning speculation.

Is Harrold really listed as a center??!?!

  • Trapper9

I would think Mikus and Harrold would be flipped.

  • AK47

Ya, Peter Harrold at center is kind of weird? Maybe he’s going to be competing for the 4th line center position. I wonder what they have in mind for Trevor Lewis? 3rd line left wing or 4th line center? Hmm, this is going to be interesting. I hope Teddy steps it up too

  • KingNewfie

I have no doubt in my mind that Teddy will step it up a whole hell of a lot this year. He has something to prove and I fully believe that he’ll do just that this year.

What’s the chances that’ll he’ll play a different position than right this year I wonder?

  • Quisp

Murray said at hockey fest that he was going to start off with Smyth/Kopitar/Williams, so that’s not a surprise.

Presumably, Loktionov is in Group C to see if he clicks with Frolov, Simmonds or Lewis. Still a long shot to make the team, but one of the “plot lines” definitely.

Purcell is a natural RW but can play LW (and did so, on the PP, for the Kings at least a few times). As far as stepping it up, he has to, or he’s this year’s Boyle.

    Harrold – it’s a misprint. Supposed to be a “G.”

I think most of the centers of the Stoll group are there because they are potential future replacements for Stoll (e.g. Moller, Azevedo).

I’m dying to see how Clune is. Clune/Westgarth/Lewis could be feasible if Clune is up to it this year. That’s better than Clune/Harrold/Westgarth, I think.
