More from the Kings’ dressing room after their loss to Nashville

Kings coach Darryl Sutter is still looking for his best players to be his best players.

“I’d like to score more than one goal,” he said after the Kings’ 2-1 shootout loss to the Nashville Predators. “They’re strong up the middle. They’ve got their veterans in the back and they have a good goalie. They don’t give you much. It just comes down to we’re still not getting that goal from the players we need to count on to score that goal.”

Kings forward Jarret Stoll wants to see the team generate more traffic and in front of opposing goalies like Nashville’s Pekka Rinne, and get more shots on net, too.

“We weren’t good at finishing and getting into the scoring areas more,” Stoll said. “There were a lot of shots blocked, and a lot of shots from the outside. We were OK at spurts. We just didn’t generate enough, didn’t get in those hard areas and get enough traffic in front of Pekka. We just have to push through. These are the games we need, especially at home and especially considering our schedule coming up.”
