Looking forward to the Kings’ game Monday against the Predators

The Kings (10-7-2) fashioned a five-game winning streak from sound defense, stellar goaltending and timely scoring. It all came unraveled during a dreary 5-2 loss Saturday to the Vancouver Canucks, when they didn’t play well in any of those three facets of the game. Jeff Carter’s five-game goal-scoring streak came to an end and goaltender Jonathan Quick wasn’t sharp. The Kings don’t have time to worry about the past, however. They play 12 games in a 20-day span, starting with Monday’s contest against the Nashville Predators at Staples Center. The Kings have lost to the Predators (9-8-5) twice already this season: Jan. 31 at Staples Center and Feb. 7 at Nashville. The Predators lost 2-1 to the Sharks in San Jose on Saturday.
