Tyler Toffoli’s NHL debut will have to wait

Tyler Toffoli was a healthy scratch for Monday’s 3-1 win over the Calgary Flames after the Kings recalled him from the Manchester (N.H.) Monarchs of the American Hockey League. The Kings have had only one extra forward, Brad Richardson, since trading Simon Gagne to the Philadelphia Flyers for a draft pick Feb. 26. Toffoli, 20, attended the Kings’ training camp and impressed the coaching staff, but was sent back to Manchester when the NHL’s lockout-delayed season began Jan. 19. He had 48 points in 55 games, including a team-leading 28 goals in his rookie season in the minors.
