Veteran center Anze Kopitar shared his thoughts about the play of Kings defenseman Drew Doughty, who ended a 28-game scoring drought to start the season during a 3-2 victory Tuesday night over the Phoenix Coyotes at Staples Center.

“I think the difference between this year and the past, he understands what he needs to do for us to win,” Kopitar said of Doughty. “Until this point, he didn’t need to score. It bugged him because has a goose egg there, but as long as we win, I don’t think he’s complaining too much.”
