Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick talks about his newborn son, Carter

Jonathan Quick’s daughter, Madison, got loads of attention during a post-Stanley Cup victory press conference in which her dad showed off the Conn Smythe trophy and she began to choke on a piece of candy. Dad didn’t panic in the least and no harm came to the child as reporters and a world-wide TV audience looked on with concern. Madison welcomed baby brother, Carter, to the world the other day and after a little bit of a rocky start, all is well in the Quick family. Reported the proud father:
“Two days ago, she met him and she was a little hesitant about him and kept telling us to put him to sleep. Yesterday, she and our babysitter when to the hospital while I was at the game (the Kings’ shootout victory Thursday over the Colorado Avalanche). They were there for a couple of hours and my wife told me she really warmed up to him and was holding him for a little bit. It’s a step in the right direction. She’s going to have to share the spotlight a little bit. Any kid is going to struggle at first. But it’s good.”
